Sun Yinghao raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh? Do tell."
Tang Zheng took another drag of his cigarette, his eyes smoldering.
Tang Zheng tells him not now, but he'll find out soon enough
Sun Yinghao leans back on his seat, crossing his arms over his chest, and giving Tang Zheng a playful grin. "Come on, man, you can't tease me like that. You know I'm curious."
Tang Zheng chuckles, taking another drag from his cigarette before setting it on the ashtray. He leans forward, his eyes twinkling mischievously. "Let's just say that I have some plans in mind".
The next day...
When Li Na awoke the next morning, she went downstairs to the kitchen for a quick bite before heading to school.
She didn't want to run into anyone in the house. But, sadly for her, Li Jing was already downstairs.
Li Na groaned inwardly when she saw Li Jing sitting at the dining table, sipping on her morning tea with an unpleasant expression on her face. Li Jing was the last person she wanted to see before heading to school.
As Li Na walked towards the kitchen counter, she noticed Li Jing looking at her with a smirk on her face, "Good morning."
Li Na ignored her and started to walk away, but Li Jing was not done with her.
"You know, I saw something interesting last night," Li Jing continued. "I saw you getting out of a car."
Li Na arched her eyebrows, sizing up Li Jing as she spoke. "Oh, is that so? You're suddenly interested in my personal affairs, huh? How convenient."
Li Jing huffed, feigning innocence. "I'm just curious. Who is this mysterious person that you're meeting with? And in a car, no less."
"Whatever you saw me getting out of the car is none of your business."
Li Jing scoffed. "At that hour? Please, spare me."
Li Na rolled her eyes. "Believe what you want, Li Jing. It's not like I owe you any explanations. And frankly, I don't care what you think."
You're just dying to find out who he is so you can try to sink your claws into him," she retorted, her tone laced with sarcasm.
"How dare you accuse me of something like that!" she shot back, her voice rising in anger. "I just wanted to know who you were with. It's not like I'm going to do anything with the information."
Li Na scoffed, not believing Li Jing's words for a second. "Right, like I'm going to believe that. You're always trying to one-up me.
Li Jing was speechless. With a sneer, she turned and stormed off, leaving Li Jing standing there.
As Li Na made her way to school she spotted her friend Ning Yu at the school entrance and approached her.
"Hey, Li Na! You look like you're ready to conquer the world today," Ning Yu said with a playful tone.
Li Na laughed. "I wish you had this kind of energy yesterday. But, how are you feeling today?"
Ning Yu pretended to clutch her chest dramatically. "Oh, you know me. I'm a warrior. Yesterday was just a flesh wound."
Li Na rolled her eyes playfully. "Yeah, I'm sure your bravery and resilience helped your grandfather recover quickly."
Ning Yu grinned. "Well, of course."
Ning Yu looked up and gave a small smile. "Well, let's just say that my grandpa is a bit hard-headed. He thinks he can still climb mountains at his age," she replied with a chuckle.
"Li Na laughed, "Well, you must have inherited his stubbornness, then."
Ning Yu playfully stuck her tongue out. "Hey, I see my influence is really rubbing off on you!"
Li Na smiled, relieved to see her friend in good spirits
The two friends shared a warm hug, before heading to their classroom.
Class went on as usual, as they sat at Ning Yu's desk, going through their textbooks, Ning Yu suddenly let out a loud sneeze.
Li Na looked up from her notes and asked, "Are you okay?"
Ning Yu rubbed her nose and replied, "I think I'm allergic to this room. Or maybe it's because I'm allergic to the witch Xiao Mei's presence in school."
"Well, maybe we should burn some incense or something to purify the air." Li Na decided to play along with Ning Yu
"Ooh, can we burn some lavender incense? I heard it's good for relaxation and concentration. Maybe it will even chase away the witch!"
