A few days had passed, and Felicia didn’t seem to be any closer to finding a cure. She and Brian had both gotten visibly worse, and their irritability had increased, causing them to lash out at Noelani and Sebastian if they said even the slightest thing wrong; Felicia felt like she was constantly apologizing to the two of them.
“I’m sorry, I just can’t seem to control myself.”
“It’s fine, we understand,” Noelani assured her, and Felicia gave her a grateful look before she looked at Sebastian. “Please don’t tell Kirk how bad I’ve gotten.”
“The only thing that I’ve told him and the others is that you’re still working on a cure,” Sebastian reassured her. “He told me to make sure that you rested, so I thought that it would be best not to mention the fact that you haven’t left the lab. Although I misspoke and said morgue, so now he thinks that you’re working with dead people.”
“At least I won’t have to go far if I don’t find a cure.”
