Chapter 44

“You’ve come a long way to find someone that everyone else thinks is dead.” Akira grabbed Felicia by the arm, looking around before he pulled her into the house.

Three burly-looking bodyguards were in the front hall, and Felicia would be lying if she said that she wasn’t intimidated.

“Don’t worry about them, they’re harmless unless they think that I’m in some kind of danger,” Akira said as he led Felicia into a large living room. “They don’t really talk a lot.” He went to a table that had a bottle of bourbon and a couple of ornate glasses. He poured some into each glass, giving one to Felicia before motioning for her to sit down.

“Isn’t it a little too early to be drinking?” She asked, earning a chuckle from the older man.

“It’s five o’clock somewhere.” He answered.
