Chapter One hundred-three [ It's the past.]

That evening, while her older sister is happily conversing with her even though she is inside her home and Daniele is outside preparing rice cake, Daniele is not very serious and yells without realizing it. Since her sister knew Daniele would not be staying there for very long because she had family, she did not respond.

Daniele laughs as she considers how the mango tree, despite its abundance, is no longer bearing nice fruits. "Thank you for the falling stars that fell on our mango trees."

"The tastes are sour, and they remain small and sour when ripe," she added. “How can it be a blessing for everyone who dies from starvation here?”

Daniele has about finished making rice cake, but the thought is still bothering her.
