PART 3

*Noises*

*Boom*

A loud explosion shook the ground.

"What was that?" Schylla asked.

"I don't know." Timothy answered.

He went to check outside the window.

"Wha–!"

"What's wrong!?" Schylla asked.

She went to check as well and what she witnessed has shocked her. She fell down in pain unbearable to accept what had happened.

"No way! My dad's there." Schylla fell on her knee unable to accept what had happened.

The whole place was in a disaster and it was closing in to them and there was smoke and fire all over the whole town.

"Someone's coming! Schylla, get up!" Timothy said and rushed to the main door and stood beside it.

"Is anyone home! Please let me in! Something's chasing me. Please let me in before it finds me." A guy constantly knocked on the door.

He sounds helpless and in pain.

Timothy just stood there and waited.

"I know you're in there please let me in!!!" The man begged and constantly banged on the door.

"Who are you? What happened!" Timothy asked as he won't stop begging.

"Timothy!? Is that you?" The guy behind the door said after recognising Timothy's voice.

Timothy was surprised and shocked as it was an unexpected development.

"H-how do you know my name? Who are you?" Timothy stuttered.

"Timothy, it's me Karl your partner from last week's adventure." Karl said.

Apparently Timothy formed a contract sign with someone for a temporary team up to take a higher rank quest.

Karl was a bowl cut who was a tiny guy around 160cm and is only 14 years old making him the youngest adventurer in platinum rank.

"I remember, Karl Wajasky right! Wait I'll open the door." Timothy quickly moved his hands towards the lock.

*Creek*

The door opened and in front of his face was Karl his temporary partner injured all over, looking tired and used up.

"Thanks!" Karl said and stood outside the house.

He didn't enter and just smiled.

"What happened!" Timothy asked.

He didn't get a response.

"What's wrong get in!" Timothy grabbed his hands and pulled him inside.

The moment Karl stepped foot inside the mansion Timothy noticed a change in the aura around him.

"Don't tell me!!" Timothy realised.

He turned back to find his own face looking at him staring and smiling creepily.

He quickly backed away from his lookalike.

"What are you? What did you do to Karl?" Timothy asked as he backed off.

"Who knows?" The fake Timothy said as he was about to summon fire to burn the real Timothy Schylla came.

"Don't move!" Schylla intervene.

"Schylla good timin-" Timothy tried to casually walk towards Schylla.

"I said don't move." Schylla warned them, aiming a large energy beam at them.

Schylla didn't know who was the real Timothy as they look alike from tip to toe and even their clothes look the same. Every tiny little bits of them are the same.

"Schylla, shoot him! He's the imposter." The imposter said.

"Prove it!"

"What?" The Imposter was shocked at how Schylla isn't easily falling into his traps.

"Prove that you're not the imposter?" Schylla asked.

"Schylla wai-"

"Shut up, you!"

Schylla shouted at Timothy not knowing he is the real one.

"Sch-"

Timothy tried to talk to her again but she showed him her charged magic.

"Talk!" Schylla said referring to The Imposter.

Timothy has lost hope as Schylla already gave attention to the imposter.

"Well we were tagging along Chàros to see what he could do." The Imposter said.

"I see that's a good reason to trust you..."

"Then-"

"But! I still haven't asked him yet." Schylla said.

"This damn bitch!" The Imposter said in his mind.

"You!" Schylla said aiming at Timothy.

"Huh!" Timothy didn't expect to be given a chance.

"Prove that you're not an imposter." Schylla said.

"O-okay. Only thing I can use to convince you now is that Chàros just did the impossible." Timothy said.

"That is?"

"He revived the dead without a vessel and broke the curse." Timothy said.

'What is this! Both of them are telling the truth that has happened. Who should I trust?' Schylla thought.' Did these shapeshifters have the ability to gain memories of those who they haven't consumed yet? Does that mean my father won't recognised me?'

"I don't want that! No I don't!" Schylla shouted, talking to herself.

She was left perplexed and almost zoned out falling on her knees again.

"Schylla!" Timothy rushed towards her and at that moment the imposter reconstructed his right hand into a blade and swung at Timothy.

"I'm dead!" Timothy thought.

His sweat came pouring as he was about to be sliced into half.

"Bang!" A voice echoes across the room.

*Splash!*

*Thud*

In a split second right before the blade hit Timothy the head of the imposter blew into pieces and the blood splashed onto the wall.
