Chapter 312: Encounter in the ceremony.

The tea had become cold and Rowen was staring at the chessboard with a confused expression. He didn't know what had happened, but all his pawns had been eaten by Mykel, leaving the king alone. Not only that, all his first rank pieces had betrayed him, even his queen had become Mykel's.

"That was quite a fun game," Mykel said as he looked at the chessboard where all his pawns were still alive, and the enemies had become his allies. "We should play this again some other time," he added and put down his king, admitting his defeat.

Rowen was confused once again because Mykel surrendered rather than killing his king to end the game. He realized that Mykel had been taking it easy on the game and that his actions implied that he was too powerful for Rowen.

"It took Her Majesty two decades to be able to win against me..." Rowen was still in disbelief. "I have never seen anyone play the game like you, Sir Alester," he said and looked at Mykel.
