The moonlight set on an island floating in isolation above the heart of a vast, dark ocean, was modest in size yet brimming with an eerie presence. It stretched to 12 kilometres, comprising a very dense forest with large trees, its roots stretched deep, a strong purple fog surrounding it, seemingly mutated animals and four small sharp mountains.
In the center of the island was a large beautifully constructed temple. It seemed to be coated in jade crystals around it and a jade eastern dragon statue on the top.
At the pinnacle of this sacred, albeit foreboding, structure stood a dimly lit chamber. The scent of incense mixed with the cold, sterile air as the figure of Quill moved around the operating table with a practiced ease. On the table lay Ryuzen, unmoving—until the moment of his awakening.
"It is finally complete, master." Quill's voice reverberated through the room, tinged with both pride and fear.
Ryuzen's eyes snapped open, glowing with a fierce crimson hue. A guttural, primal roar erupted from deep within his chest, sending a shockwave through the temple. The ground beneath the island quaked as though the very island was reacting to his awakening. The water beneath the island churned violently, the seas surface twisting in rippling patterns, mirroring the storm of power awakening within Ryuzen.
His body grew, muscles swelling and tightening as the red aura that enveloped him intensified. He rose from the table, each movement deliberate and full of newfound strength. The transformation was visceral—his form stretched taller and bulkier, his power radiating out in waves. But the most alarming sight was the disintegration of the operating table itself, shattered to pieces as he stood, as though the sheer magnitude of his transformation was too much for the equipment to contain.
"How does it feel, master?" Quill asked cautiously, his eyes fixed on the now-monstrous form of Ryuzen.
The latter grinned—a wicked, teeth-baring smile. His voice was thick with malice as he flexed his newfound muscles, feeling the sheer force of his strength. "This power... it's beyond anything I imagined." He gave Quill a sidelong glance, the gleam in his eyes both approving and deadly. "You have outdone yourself, Quill. But don't think of these excuses for your recent failure. Losing something valuable to a child..."His gaze turned sharp, like a predator eyeing its prey.
Quill lowered his head in shame, though he remained composed. "Forgive me, master. I underestimated the boy. He managed to escape a spatial barrier, using a unknown ice magic technique." He explained trying to save face.
Ryuzens face twisted in a dark smirk. "It doesn't matter. Our plan continues." He turned, his every movement a reminder of the terrifying power now at his command. "Get Devil's Eye ready. It's time to bring out the Dragon. We can't afford to waste time."
'Hai Ryuzen-dono.' A crooked female voice answered.
Elsewhere
The large capital city of Taiyo known as Tenkyou was an incredibly beautiful settlement with a balance of bridges arch elegantly over tranquil canals, vibrant lanterns float through the air like ethereal fireflies, cherry blossoms bloom amidst streets lined with both traditional markets and modern workshops, railway networks, and towering pagodas with sweeping eaves and intricate golden inlays stand proudly alongside sleek, enchanted structures. Finally at its heart was the imperial palace which was an awe-inspiring fortress of red and gold.
To the south stretching into the ocean, lay the Tenkyou port sector, the largest harbour in Taiyo and one of the most vital trade hubs in the Eastern continents.
A deep, guttural rumble reverberated through the ocean floor. The pressure in the air dropped, sending cruising outward like a detonation beneath the sea.
Suddenly eight massive serpent heads blasted through the waters. They're scales were black and each had different colours and shaped horns on their heads ranging from orange, blue, white, gray, green, yellow, purple and red.
The port descended into chaos as ships capsized, wooden piers splintered, and desperate shouts filled the airs.
Available fleet ships tried to attack the monster with their cannons, beat it regularly or powered by ethernano but couldn't put a dent on its scales. Some ships were quickly destroyed by the multiple tails which sprang out of the waters smashing into them either injuring or killing the soldiers.
The orange horned head blasted fire to the ground causing the roads and buildings a blaze.
The blue horned (water), yellow horned (lightning), white horned (ice) and purple horned head (darkness) charged their respective elements and fired them into the city but before the attacks could make contact a glitch in space seemly sucked them inside and disappeared
On top of a tall building was a male and female watching the carnage.
The first one was a handsome male in his mid to late twenties standing at 5 '9 with medium length dark purple hair and grey eyes, fair skinned. He wore a long high-collared coat with an asymmetrical cut flowing down to his ankles, underneath a high collared shirt underneath, layered with a button vest, slim-fitting dark pants and boots.
Next to him was a beautiful female in late teens to early twenties standing at 5 '11 with long flowing red hair with orange highlights at the end, matching red eyes, slightly tanned skin, and busty figure. She wore a sleek, sleeveless leather vest which hugged her form with emblem stitched on her chest area, fitting leather pants, lace-up boots and a long tattered leather coat flowing behind her with a phoenix symbol on the back.
"Don't tell me that attack was enough to already tire you out of the fight, Sato." The female mocked while eyeing the eight headed beast.
"Not even close to Seraphina-san but the beast's power caught me off guard and that attack would have destroyed the city section." Sati remarked, letting out a heavy breath as the attack was stronger than he thought.
"Yeah too bad we don't have a person with dragon slayer magic by our side." She narrowed her eyes but formed a challenging smirk as her coat flickered with embers and a beautiful red sword flashed in left hand. "But I'm a bit excited to fight a real life dragon"
"Don't be so brash Seraphina-san. We can't just go rushing into things. Seraphina-san the city is still under process of evacuation and we should focus more on avoiding unnecessary damage for now."
"Than why don't you just teleport away?" She looked at him in a bit of annoyance.
"A situation of its high body mass and high magical power will make it extremely difficult. so our best chance is to lure it away."
"You really do get into your own head some times weren't listening to Akira. She said that the dragon was being controlled by devil eye we can't just make it made at us and have ut chase us to the other side of the county. So I'll take care of attacking since my Vermillion Saber can hurt it while you use that big brain to keep damage at a minimum and come up with a new plan as we go!"
"Star Dress: Vermillion Bird!" Magnificent flames covered her as her arms turned into talons and beautiful phoenix wings formed from her on her back then took off to the multi headed serpent-dragon.
" 'Tsh' You're impossible." He flew at her and the two began their attack on the Orochi.
Back to the island
"I see they sent the two Champions to stop the beast but even their combined might won't be able to stop it." He smirked but immediately stopped as he sensed a powerful attack coming to the island.
He quickly disappeared and reappeared above the temple roof looking up to the sky and was greeted by a large lightning attack coming towards the island. He got his Katana ready and used it to intercept the attack causing the island to shake a little.
He scooped the sky and saw Harumi a miles away from the floating island in her Devil Trigger form. So towards her at hih speeds and was a few meters away from her in seconds.
Harumi glared at him as she sensed the power coming from him, confirming to her that he had reclaimed the ability to draw in more of the demon king's power.
"I'm surprised you came here alone? That's an uncharacteristically reckless move on your Harumi-chan." He mocked while keeping his guard up just in case.
"I've let you walk this world long enough Ryuzen but this time I shall do what i should have for eight years." She twirled her spear getting ready for battle.
"Why must Harumi-chan be on opposing sides Harumi-chan. A woman of your beauty and strength you don't deserve to be on the losing side of this conflict." He stretched out his hand to her. "You can rule by my side and become my queen. With our combined might we will not only easily bring the county"
Harumi looked at the demonized man in disgust. "I would never wed myself with a repulsive creature like yourself."
"I see what a shame it would be to dispose of you but as you know anything which gets in the way of my ambition will be eliminated." His magic power exploded pushing Harumi back due to its pure force.
The whole continent began to shock due to the sheer magnitude of the power being released and the sky above them turned into dark storm clouds covering the continent.
Somewhere in the mountains in Ishgar
Deep within the Tartarus guild all the Etherious demons paused their activities as they felt a wave of tremendous surge of power.
Seilah lounging on a floating throne of cursed books stiffens as the power felt similar to theirs but filled with a lot more negative energy sent slithers down her veins. Kyoka mid-experimenting, halts, gripping the table so hard it splinters.
The leader of the guild Mard Geer who rarely shows surprise slowly opened his eyes from his slumber state. The underworld king smirks, his grip tightening on the book of Zeref labeled E.N.D.
"How fascinating. It seems like a storm is coming."
In Alvarez Empire
A young man looked at the sky soberly. He had fair skin, average height with black hair, onyx eyes and wore a dark robe. This was the dark wizard and Emperor of Alvarez Zeref Dragneel.
"It's been centuries since I've felt this presence like this." He mumbled as felt the demon's power but was glad it wasn't the king of the West but was likely the Storm demon king of the East Kurōten.
In Bellum
"ARGH!!" Fausto screamed in agony as held head in pain and collapsed on the table in the guild hall gaining other guild members attention and Lorenzo and Gerta to run over in worry.
"Fausto what's the matter!" Gerta asked, kneeling beside him and getting her stuff ready incase if a healing spell was required.
"D-Demon." He muttered in between breaths.
"Wow, take it easy man try to breathe." said Lorenzo.
While this was going on Kane walked to the outside and looked to the sky gaining Jacob and Flora's attention.
"Yo Kane this have something to do with what's happened to Fausto." asked Jacob and the armoured man nodded.
"A powerful demon has been unleashed in our world." Kane answered, gaining the whole guild's attention, especially Fausto.
"Where is it then?" questioned Flora.
"Taiyo." He answered, causing Lorenzo's eyes to widen as his sister was settled there. "I must go." Bright golden wings erupted from his back.
"H-Hold on." Fautso tried to reach out for him to go with him and so did Lorenzo but Kane already took off.
In an unknown dimension
"Hmm~ How interesting it seems." Selene smirked as she relaxed in an exotic spring while watching the eight headed dragon through the waters. "It seems like this country is about to under go quite the distorting event~." .
The water visual in the water changed revealing a party of four consisting of Morrigan, Salem and Kagura who were on the island.
"Now little changeling let me see how you handle this situation~."
Back with Harumi
"No." Harumi looked at Ryuzen's new form in complete shock.
His skin was now blue, had an extra pair of arms, along with tusks, his hair was now white, eyes continuously letting out lightning.
"This power is beyond anything I imagined! Now come meet your maker Shogan of Lightning!"
In lightning speeds the two dashed at each other making a thunderous boom and a shockwave which affected the whole country.
On the island
"W-What is that." Kagura questioned as she looked at the darkened sky in shock. She had never seen something like this happen before.
"Tsh Ryuzen must be getting access to Kurōten power if he's able to do this." Commented Morrigan and turned to Salem taking notice of his dreaded expression. "Um kid are you oka…"
He placed his hand which flickered between his forms on a tree for support, as he began to breathe heavily and gripped his chest tight as it seemed his heart wanted to explode out of it.
When Ryuzen unleashed the Enraio's power he did just fell the huge amounts of magic but he got a more in-depth feel of the black magic now in the air as he was more sensitive Ethernano so he felt the tremendous hatred, bloodlust. Causing him to collapse a bit while leaning on the tree feeling very nauseated.
"Salem-san!" Kagura knelt beside him not really knowing what to do and so she turned to Morrigan hoping the adult female would know what's going on but she looked a bit taken off guard.
He took in a breath and did some he hasn't done in a while. Salem brought his finger together in a praying stance. "Mtima wanga usaphe manthe, chifukwa ambuye ali nane. Mdima, usandiopse, chifukwa, kuwala kwanga kulipo." At least that helped him feel a bit better but his heart was still pounding and skin still crawling.
"What was that?" asked Morrigan as there are times he muttered it in his sleep but thought it was just sleep but never when awake so she shrugged it off but now is curious what language that was.
"Just a prayer my grandma taught me to strengthen my soul and ward off evil spirits. I wish she was her. Maybe she would have used the power of our ancestors to banish Ryuzen to the underworld." He chuckled a bit nostalgically remembering his grandma as he got up and Kagura kept close in case he collapsed.
"Grandmother?" The months she's known he had never once talked about his family before. Which led her to wonder what happened to them.
"Aw don't worry Junior, your teacher will keep that big bad demon away if it tries to hurt you." Morrigan yanked and pressed him a bit on her left breast.
"Geez you're really touchy today." He rolled his eyes but had a smile on his face.
While this was going Kagura stared at the two with a bit of longing in her heart as the scene reminded her of the time when she was a little parent and brother would comfort her whenever she got scared but more so of Simon as pulled a mocho act to make her laugh.
This caused her to look at archenemy with sadness as she had broken her vow to only unsealed when the day she faced Jellal which made her think of what the possessed Kage said to her how she was extremely weak both body and mind. Though she was self aware that she needed to gain more power. But to make it worse she had unsheathed her blade and broke her oath never to do just through petty insults.
As Kagura was distracted by her thoughts she didn't notice the pants but was cut down and was cut down into pieces by Morrigan with her arms morphed into sharp blades.
"How rude can't you see we were having a moment here!" She commented which caused a very large tree to spam for the ground.
"You were foolish to come to this Sacred Island! Prepare to suffer a fateful, gruesome death." It spoke in a crooked female voice.
With them multiple plant, wood or tree-based monsters surrounded and charged at the trio but they were cut down by them.
Salem noticed that Kagura actually unsheathed her sword when they fought them off which was really out of character as he thought she was saving that for Jellal or something.
'Tsh, we won't have time for this.' Morrigan thought a bit annoyed as she had a feeling more will spawn soon so she looked at the temple pin pointed at her target. "Alright you two go ahead and cut down the tree and I'll deal with the devil eye in the temple."
"Splitting up, are you sure that's a good idea right now?" Asked Salem
"I agree I believe the term safety in numbers is a better option especially in the position we're in." voiced Kagura.
Morrigan clicked her tongue in a bit of annoyance when she saw the doubtful looks on their faces. Normally Salem didn't have a problem going off on his own so the demon king's power must still be rattling him a bit and she didn't know Kagura well but she noticed the girl had been a bit demoralised since they re-grouped.
"Salem dear I know the demon king's power spooked you a bit and I've been there too but I need you to put on your big boy pants and concentrate on the situation at hand because if you let it distract you well someone will kill you in your hesitation. The same goes for you Kagura. I don't know what angst you're going through but you came here to get experience and fight for your mothers country right well here's your chance."
"She's right Salem we can't let our fears and emotions hinder our spirits." Kagura steeled her resolve and focused her mind on getting the mission done and pushed the other issues to the back of her mind for now. But Salem looked at her a bit amused."W-What why are you looking at me like that?"
"I just think you talk all mystic like that." This earned a little nudge from the slightly blushing swordswoman. "Alright alright let's go. Later Morrigan didn't rob the whole temple!" Salem went into his giant form and Kagura hopped on his back then took off to the location of the tree.
"Now let's see what sort of spicy secrets and treasures there are hiding in that temple~." She licked her lips and sank into the shadows.
