Clutch

"My answer is probably the same reason why you're putting up with me."

Dane lowered his head as he slowly balled his hand into a fist. His breathing started to slow down, hearing his own gulp echo in his ear. Everything Dominic had just uttered kept repeating in his mind. Eventually, Dane turned his head to the backseat door. Lips pressed tightly, Dane wordlessly walked around the vehicle and entered the driver's seat.

"Mr. Zhang." Dominic arched a brow, squinting his eyes at Dane in the driver's seat. "What are you doing in there?"

Dane huffed and slowly gazed up at the rearview mirror. He didn't say anything, just studied Dominic's expression through it.

"Since I told you I don't trust you anymore… are you going to kill me?" Dominic inquired calmly. "How? Crashing this car so it can look like an accident? Wouldn't you put yourself in danger in that case too?"

"Why?" Dane breathed out, hands on the steering wheel. "Why do you doubt me?"
