Ivy took a deep breath, locking her phone immediately after sending the message. Simultaneously, she turned her head to the front passenger seat as Dane got in.

"Seatbelt," she remarked, smiling at Dane as he gazed at her.

Without a word, Dane fastened his seatbelt, leaning back comfortably, his eyes fixed on the windshield.

"Where are we going?" he asked, sensing her gaze from the corner of his eyes.

"Just… somewhere," she said, peeling her gaze from him. "You'll find out once we get there."

Dane slid his eyes to her, only to see her starting the engine. There were lingering questions in his head, wondering why this woman was here and what she wanted from him. However, he dismissed them all.

'It's one of her nonsense again,' he thought as the car started to move.
