Chapter 10: Recruitment
Zoro and Leon attacked each other with their auras, preparing to use their most powerful skill.The shield was cracking up due to the immense pressure.Alex was feeling dizzy almost losing consciousness but he knew that if this attack wasn't contained it will spread hurting and probably killing a lot of people.
Zoro activated a five star swordsman most powerful skil,'heaven slasher'.It was met with a huge ball of lightning which covered over half of the fighting cage which was very large.Time seemed to have paused as the shield eventually shattered and the spectators saw the grim reaper coming for their lives.

In the vip area,
Julius was intrigued by the fight going on in the cage but he was not perturbed by the incoming wave of power he himself was already a calamity mage and besides the vip area had an extra shield layer made by a forbidden level light mage.He was more concerned by the puny looking boy inside the cage.He smiled mischievously.

The fighting arena administrative office
"Boss the shield broke down.I am afraid the economic area will have a lot of death recorded and injuries affecting our reputation." said the manager of the fighting arena.
"Get a defensive mage fast and get the shield back off.If anybody get hurts,I trust you know the rest Marc." a beautiful lady replied.
Marc knew what this beautiful demon was capable of,she could send him to another dimension for a while as punishment.He stood up and went to search for a defense mage."Thank the stars that I am a wind mage"he thought.

Back in the fighting cage an immense amount of shadow energy gathered and circled the cage blocking the attack.Alex received the full damage of the spell.He fell face first to the ground and lost consciousness.The shadow energy kept preventing the attack from spreading out of the cage cause it was immense and most of the lights had been destroyed.

Julius couldn't believe what he was saw.He was certain that the kid was unconscious due to him being a box mage but his energy still contained the attack.There was only one set of people that had that much magical energy in the entire Wisteria, royals and nobles.

Alex woke up finding himself on a bed.He was curious about how he got here but he was more hungry.He saw breakfast already served but wasn't sure whether it belonged to him but still ate it anyway.
"I see that you are awake"said a handsome guy that made Alex black vein react.
"Just what type of luck do I have? Just waking up and I am already been warned of danger.Death although I don't know how but I won't die until I kill you."Alex murmured.
"You sure are a funny one.Be rest assured that nobody here would hurt you.I am Julius Windward and I would like you to introduce yourself too." Julius introduced himself
"Alex Blade,a huge fan of your sister Avery Windward and I have an entrance examination to get to so can I go now?" Alex inquired
"Well you seem to be a bold one too.You will need it if you are interested in my sister.Now to business I would like to recruit you into the Windward family.What do you say? Julius asked with a smile.
"Why and what is in it for me?" Alex said nonchalantly.
"You really are bold not be afraid of nobles.You are a shadow mage which is rare and not all noble houses have and you get a simple task which is protecting my sister and just answering the call of the family when we need you with a monthly salary of five thousand chronocoins which increases as you get more power." Julius answered
"Protecting the little miss of the Windward family only amounts to five thousand chronocoins?The saying nobles are stingy must be true and don't you know that I will only do the worth of the money I am assigned? From a handsome guy to another that is too little for me to put my life on the line for you even though I am just an intermediate mage." Alex said.
"You know that you are very brazen.I like you and how about hundred thousand chronocoins monthly with five thousand weekly wages?" Julius asked.
"That is half my mother's salary.I would be mad to refuse free money and how hard can it be to safeguard a girl my age? You have yourself a deal young master Julius." Alex said.
"So you will have to apply to the same academy which is Alpha academy"Julius stated
"That's the bottom of the food chain academy so I guess you really want to protect her.Did you pick a fight with an holy beast? What about my academy fees?" Alex inquired
"You ask a lot of questions.Don't worry,it will be taken care of.All you have to do is pass the entrance examination.And the details is none of your business.Now do you want to go to the entrance examination in a flying carriage or a car?" Julius asked
"Damn nobles flaunting their money.A car would do" Alex replied.
"Alright it is waiting for you outside inside of it is this month's payment and weekly wage." Julius said while leaving.
"Don't worry I will be sure to put your si... sorry I meant your money to good use" Alex replied with a smile.
