Double or Nothing

"BASTARD!"

SLAM!!

Aegri reached for the door, nearly knocking off Ayse's hat while yanking the door shut.

Ayse, however, didn't seem to notice her animosity. He turned to cross the hallway with a beaming grin. And Ayse entered the living area to find jaws on the floor.

Looking at his brothers, Ayse asked, "What? The day just started and we've already got problems?"

"Boss Bro!" Baloo impulsively blurted. "Didn't you sleep in your room?"

"What room?"

Ayse's shrugging reply startled LaRee as well. The archer asked, "Then you spent the night in Miss Aegri's room?"

"Of course." Matter-of-factly, Ayse guffawed. "Baloo's got the morning shift. You've got the evening shift. And I've got the night shift. How else can we cover all twenty-four hours?"

The more LaRee thought about it, the more sound Ayse's logic felt.
