I'll Be Stepping Out For a Bit

In the dining room, silence was the surprise addition to the menu. It was served cold with a pairing of uneasy stares.

Baloo struggled with the unexpected course. He blinked every time his fidgety gaze bounced to the next thing. His stiff tail acted more animatronic than biological, wagging with constant pauses in a steady, unnatural rhythm.

The four Wizley Officers seemed to be doing fine with their servings of stillness. Though they occasionally glanced about the room, no one moved too quickly or hesitantly.

LaRee, however, savored the silence. He sped through that surprise appetizer straight away, going back to his pancakes and eggs as soon as the three others exited the dining room.

"... Why are you worried, Little Loo?"

The reptilian teen tapped his fork against his plate. "I mean… Is it wrong for me to be worried?"

Shaking his head, LaRee swallowed his next bite of food. "No. There is nothing wrong with it. But I am not worried."
