Asking Questions

With a light shrug, Head Officer Mocke replied, "I think you make some interesting assumptions from your hasty observations."

"It doesn't matter how fast I reached my assumptions." Ayse shrugged in turn. "So long as I'm right. And my babysitter's reactions are quite telling, to say the least."

A different member of the forensics team stomped from the dining area. "You say all of that. Yet if you know the scene so well, couldn't we also assume that you might be reciting this all from memory?" 

"Technically," Ayse smiled back at the forensics officer from over his shoulder, "anyone can say anything. But if you're accusing me of being present during this sloppy hit job, that would be something else." 

The forensics officer went silent for a moment. He glanced at the head officer, who didn't react at all. 

At the same time, Ayse stepped into the dining area.
