Attack

The person who was being pulled back could not catch their bearings as the force pulled them further toward their attacker.

Despair was beginning to fill their heart as they could not resist what was coming. "Urgh..."

The pain was unbearable as his flesh was being pulled at from the inside and was being torn apart. "Argh..."

Death was soon to come for him as he was drawn closer in a short moment.

He could already see the shadow of the person closing in on him from behind.

The shadow loomed over him as the shadow itself raised its arm up showing off sharp and curved fingers unlike ordinary fingers.

The hand was about to come down when another shadow appeared just when the shadow's arm was about to come downward.

Another form appeared just in time to deliver a powerful punch toward the face of the attacker, who was consumed by bloodlust.

Joe was revealed under the moonlight after he was hit and fell into the open.

The impact from the punch had caused him to fall but he did not release his prey right away which showed what he had done.

One of his arms had morphed into the shape of a hook, and it had pierced through one person's back, which caused them to be dragged along with him as he fell.

His arm seemed to have grown a lot in size and length, almost similar to something like a grappling hook.

His other hand was different as only his fingers had curved to look like hooks.

The grappling hook arm seemed to have extended and retracted after piercing and catching his target that was hooked and unable to get free so easily.

The other arm did not have the same hook ends on the end of his fingers as if to only be suited to tearing flesh and not to get stuck in the flesh it pierced or tore through.

The grappling hook arm soon disconnected from the connected person, who was bleeding out as it retracted back to normal, but not without doing a little more.

The movement of removing it was so quick and forceful that it tore up the insides of that person on the way out, leaving them in a very poor state.

The body was lying in a pool of blood while they let out pained groans. "Argh! AAAH!"

The murderous look in their eyes increased as they tried to climb up from their current position. "Who are you people?"

Although he was caught off guard and there was likely more to come from various other locations, he still did not seem to be overly panicked and was more curious than anything.

Joe seemed to either have some confidence in his capabilities to defeat them or there was something else that he was confident about achieving that he would not need to escape right away.

The newly arrived figure revealed itself which was Butch. 'It is a good thing that I smelled the blood... although it might still be a little late.'

The eyes of Butch narrowed slightly as he looked over Joe who was trying to get onto his feet again. "So it is true... no wonder they call you the butcher. A hook Quirk... how appropriate."

Butch did not stop to chat as he seemed to notice the attitude of Joe who did not seem too nervous or threatened by his presence of him.

He jumped into action right away as he moved in to deliver another punch from the side of Joe aiming toward his temple.

Surprise shone in the eyes of Joe as he saw Butch was not taking him lightly and was not wasting any precious time.

There were always cases when someone became overconfident when they thought they had the upper hand and had subdued their enemy so they let their guard down allowing a perfect opportunity to be struck when off guard.

Another case involved similar circumstances but it was that they allowed their target time to recover or to form a strategy.

Others would rather choose to remain vigilant when their opponent had become aware of them so after getting in the first surprise attack, they would hold off until others would come to support them as they would only take the necessary actions required of them.

Not everyone was so willing to just jump into a battle like that when there was a risk of injury and dying from the exchange.

Butch defied expectations as no time was given to him in that moment.

Even his plan to make Butch more concerned about his ally to fight to his full capacity had not worked as planned.

His mind was racing as regret filled his heart. 'Damnit! I should have just used that guy as a shield!'

He got over his regret quickly as he let his experience and instincts take over.

His arm morphed once more as it curved and hardened into a hook that soon intercepted the path where Butch attacked from.

Butch moved to the side a little in an instant but if he did not move then his arm would have surely been pierced the moment that his punch had landed.

Sweat formed on his forehead as he knew he had just avoided a close call. "Tsk..."

He adjusted his position but he did not back off in the slightest.

Butch could not allow Joe to recover so he kept pressing on with the attack.

He managed to avoid being harmed but it was still very likely that there would be more cards up the sleeve of Joe that could be used if given a single moment to recover and to think clearly.

The hooks formed from the arms of Joe but they must have had some limitations just like all other Quirks.

If one arm of his took a single shape of a certain type of hook then that arm would be in that shape until cancelled so it required conscious thought or activation to manipulate it in that way.

The speed of the manipulation from forming the shape and undoing or changing it would be a major factor involved.

Another factor that was involved was that he only showed the capability to transform his arms in that manner so far.

One arm was already in use while the other was still free so it was something to be cautious of while considering there being other available ways to manipulate other limbs or body parts.

If Joe could do that, then his ability to stand or do other things would become an issue if he used more than his arms.

Butch had heard some information about Joe 'The Butcher' so he did not want to underestimate him in any way.

There was some information about him surrounding his Quirk that was named Hook but there were always people that concealed the limitations of their Quirk within the criminal underworld.
