Standing atop Liberty Bell's head, the Ghost's targeting HUD light up locking onto five missiles aimed at Liberty Bell. The Ghost take flight straight at the missiles. He fired small caliber bullets the warheads causing them to detonate.
He hit four out of the five, but for the last one, he saved something special.
Meanwhile, the rebels and the other United States fighters had arrived to find New York in shambles, Nazi citizens trying to escape the carnage, as the troops dismounted the trucks.
"Anyone have eyes on the Ghost?"
"Look, up there!" yelled a citizen as they pointed to the sky.
The Ghost as flying straight at an incoming missile, he had his twin propellors, mounted on his armor, at full throttle. He let out a loud war cry before punching the warhead, causing it to explode over the city.
The streets were silent for a moment before another citizen cried out.
"Look!"
She was pointed to the unphased Ghost, hovering above the city.
"He ain't even dented." cried another civilian.
The Ghost turned to face the Oppergrubenfuhrer but was shot out of the sky by the Fuhrer. The Nazi automaton still had a score to settle with Liberty Bell. The Fuhrer opens fired his arsenal at Liberty Bell, who responded accordingly. She recalled in her memory banks, how she and the Ghost had emerged from the tomb of America. Rather than using the lift, she was ordered to break through the ground and climb out, a lesson the Ghost had taught her. "Climb and remember each step you take, the same goes for history. As we rise, we mustn't forget where we come from but, keep our eyes on where we are going." Once out of flashback, she raised her foot and stomped the Nazi automaton out of existence.
"The only acceptable fascism is dead fascism." said Liberty grinding her metal foot into the pile of junk behind it.
Rebel photographers took advantage of the situation and snapped photographs of everything. Liberty was kind enough as to knock down every Nazi swastika in sight, making sure they shattered when they hit the ground.
"Ghost, come in!"
"I read you."
"Nazis have called in reinforcements, including a nuke! We need to lead that bomber to Area 51."
"Affirmative. Liberty Bell! Take flight! To Area 51!"
The American Automaton activated her jet pack, and to the Nazis surprise, she could in fact fly.
The Rebels and other Americans held onto her as she soared into the sky. The Ghost flew alongside her keeping close to her making sure the strike bomber could see them.
The Ghost's engines had sustained some damage during the fight, so he landed on Liberty's back being sure to fire a few rounds to keep the bombers attention.
"Liberty! When they drop that nuke, I want you to throw the entire MOAB rack you have, make sure that nuke hits it!"
"ARE YOU CRAZY?"
"It's the only way to get home! I'm sure of it!"
As they made it over Area 51, the Nazis dropped the nuke, Liberty Bell removed her MOAB pack and placed it beneath the nuke, all of the warheads in the pack primed and ready to detonate. The group tried to make it to a safe distance with the rebels when the nuke hit.
The explosion rocked the state, once again everything was frozen, and the voice called out.
"Going home so soon? I hope you all learned something."
This time, everyone heard the voice, their faces emanated pure terror. As time resumed, they were all thrown into their home timeline, the Nazi bomber was ripped to shreds and the crater left by the bomb was eight times the size of the one that brought them there in the first place.
However, the group had been teleported far above the surface, and left to free fall. Liberty Bell refired her jet pack catch everyone, everyone except the Ghost.
He restarted his engines, only for Engine two to catch fire and break off of its mounts. He had the throttle wide open hoping it was slow his fall, and it did, but not slow enough. He slammed into the sand below, the armor giving critical condition alarms as he skittered across the sand before coming to a halt. The armors wings were tattered and destroyed, the armor itself was in bad shape as well, but he'd survived. They all had.
