Soon, the seasons changed. The bright summer from yesterday turned into today's dready monsoon. The little birdies had already migrated and started to leave the nest one by one.

Li Jie packed his suitcase that was almost overfilled due to Jian Tang adding things. Initially, due to Li Jies's refusal to accept the therapy session the atmosphere in the Li manor had tensed. The snow only melted after the news of Li Jie's successful admission into University A the alma mater of his parents.

The news wasn't a shock but it still made Jian Tang satisfied. But no one noticed Li Jie's face growing paler in the vibrant atmosphere. The acceptance letter from University C was quietly crumpled in his hand. The strings of the plot had started to grow tighter around his neck.

Now, in the present Li Jie could only swallow his anger and pack his bags. Suddenly the phone that had been placed on the bedside table vibrated. Li Jie looked at the screen that flashed with Bai Ye's name. Since his hospitalisation due to poisoning Li Jie seemed to have grown closer to this passerby villain character. Maybe it was due to their similarities or due to Li Jie's last pitiful efforts of changing the plot.

"Hello." Li Jie put the phone on speakers, Bai Ye's unusual hoarse voice could be heard intermediately along with loud party music. Li Jie stopped in his movements focusing on what Bai Ye had to say.

"*Sob* Xiao Li...I am at XC meet me…please…"

Li Jie clearly had the idea what was going on but he kept on his dumb act driving Bai Ye to extremes.

"I will explain everything…just come here." The youth finally narrowed his eyes and got ready to meet Bai Ye. At this point Li Jie has had several public-private meetings with Bai Ye. Their relationship had progressed to the point of sharing feelings which was within the youth's calculations. As Bai Ye was going to be his informant in the Bai family.

Li Jie soon reached the location they had discussed beforehand. The loud music was being played in the XC bar. As soon as Li Jie entered some gazes shifted towards him. But the regulars in the bar had gotten used to his rejections forcing them to treat him as an unattainable prize in the community.

Li Jie observed the dancefloor and tables. A bartender quickly waved towards him pointing to Bai Ye who slept with his head on the counter.

*Sigh* Li Jie walked to them and sat beside now unconscious Bai Ye. The youth poked Bai Ye with his fingers but there was no response. Li Jie asked for a glass of water from the bartender who moved quickly sharing the worry about Bai Ye, a regular.

"Brother Bai!" Li Jie put the glass closer to Bai Ye lips who compiled by drinking a few sips. The youth could now clearly see the bottomless dark eyes that had stained red in the corner. It was clear Bai Ye wasn't drunk, just a little unstable.

"Did something happen?" Done.

Li Jie was soon hugged by Bai Ye, a grown man who seemed weak at the moment. Bai Ye was abandoned by the Bai family just like in the plot but hearing about this development only made Li Jie think. As Bai Lian had yet to even step foot in the Bai family, the plot was deviated.

Li Jie soothed the doctor. "Why? They are your adoptive parents."

Hearing the word parents only made Bai Ye tightened his grip on Li Jie who didn't resist. Two guys hugging was nothing new for the bar, in fact it was anything but mild.

"They got wind of my sexuality." Bai Ye's voice was low but clear enough for Li Jie to hear. More than twenty years of relationship was destroyed just like that. Li Jie tried comforting Bai Ye but failed. The latter seemed to have been completely defeated, taking all the blame for the severed relation.

But only Li Jie was clear about the consequences. He tried getting closer to Bai Ye despite the system's warning. This was the system just teaching him a lesson.

Li Jie chuckled before telling the bartender to call for a cab. Bai Ye squeezed his eyes pouting, expressing his dissatisfaction.

"The hell! Who are you to judge? At least I am taking you to a hotel." Li Jie drank a glass of cold water not minding how messed up Bai Ye looked or how sad the other party might feel. As soon as his drink was finished he carried Bai Ye to the cab. The bartender was surprised the youth could handle a grown man that easily. On the other hand the cab driver scowled looking at the drunk customer.

The cab soon stopped at a 5 star hotel. The red carpet was spread out and rich people kept walking in and out. The cab driver looked at Li Jie strangely for making him stop in front of such a luxurious place in fear of getting kicked out. But before anything could happen Li Jie let him go along with a good tip…and a backseat without any human bodily fluids.

Li Jie walked with Bai Ye inside clearing knowing what kind of stares he was getting. But he had no choice as he couldn't ditch his friend in a motel with tick infestations. And the only reason he chose this hotel was…Yep it was further in plot. Just like the XC bar where he was supposed to bully the protagonist Bai Lian. But he failed.

Li Jie put Bai Ye on the sofa's lobby and went to book a room. But was denied politely due to the drunken state of Bai Ye that could cause issues with other customers. Li Jie was dumbfounded by the logic but asked politely once again.

"Miss, please brother is drunk and also picky. If I don't find a room, he will have to sleep in the rain outside."

The receptionist looked at the handsome youth begging, making her heart string feel a ting. But she gained her professional composure soon. An important conference was going to end soon so she clearly needed to make these two disappear.

"Miss, please…" This time Li Jie tried slipping a hundred dollar note.
