Subsequent Fall Part 44.5: Glitch

Adam gave the signal as the hologram turned around. Speaking out to them it smiled. "Ah innocent children, what a shame you were forced into this lifestyle." It spoke in his voice as everyone was caught off guard. Jaimie stood up and walked over to the glass as Astral nabbed her hand.

She looked behind to Astral as she realized that this would be the closest thing to Titan he ever wants them to face, and the belittling is a part of the battle. Jaimie tensed up as May joined her at the glass. Adam put his back to the wall, this was what Titan was?

James took a deep breath as his claws glowed a bright white. Blitzing faster than Adam's eyes could perceive, the hologram was slashed several times over in a matter of moments. James looked behind him over his shoulder as a fist was coming for his face as he turned.

Angel threw her spear at the perfect location as she detonated the impulse charge and blew the arm off target she swooped in and grabbed her spear once more. James jumped up and kicked Titan as he slid a meter away. "You two are trying your hardest, now it's my turn."

In a blink of an eye Titan was sending another punch at James as he matched it with his claws. His arm became numb in pain as he couldn't focus on it. Titan's barrage began as James matched the placement of each punch, his bones in his arms slowly losing their form as the power between the two was enough to shake the room. Titan threw a stray punch to his gut as Angel stabbed her spear into it, impulsing him away as he flipped through the air and landed on the ground.

Titan cracked his neck as he charged back at the two, Angel batted away every punch with her spear as fast as she could, all she could do was redirect the attacks due to the sheer power of them. One punch leaked through as it went for her skull. Using her stacks all into strength. She slammed her head downward and blocked his blow. Grabbing his arm and stabbing it into the ground as James hopped over her back and slashed his face with two clean strikes.

Titan ripped his arm away and grabbed James between the two halves, pinning him to the ground. Titan smiled. "I wonder how my regenerating arm will crush you?" He pushed down into the ground further as his hand flew away into the background. Angel used her spear and sliced through the arm as James rolled backwards, no matter what, they have to remember they aren't failing.

"You two got this!" May and Astral shouted at the same time as they were filled with such hope and happiness. James and Angel readied themselves as he healed his arms back to full health, the stinging sensation went away as Titan stood up. His arm snapped back into place as the two realized they never made it this far.

"You two have been taught well, learning and adapting is your lifestyle. Let's see what happens when there isn't limits." Titan summoned a chain as it wrapped Angel up. Catching everyone off guard once more. James slashed it into two as he closed the gap. With two deep slashes from his claws he felt an overbearing weight be put on him. Looking up he saw a hand coming down onto him.

Angel managed to free herself as she drew Astral's rifle and fired three lightspeed rounds and severed the hand from the body as James ducked lower, the weight was gone as Astral started to enchant them with offensive support. "Angel, target the core with the next barrage." James rolled backward as Titan slammed his fists into the ground where James was. 

One clear shot into Titan's chest caused him to stop for a moment as Angel summoned her spear once more. Titan rushed at her as she severed his right arm in a blurry flurry of slashes with her spear as she glided around Titan. The hologram looked up to the booth as Astral was glaring at it.

"My apologies." The hologram spoke as it threw a punch upwards and struck Angel directly in the gut as she braced for it. Hovering in air as several claws were launched into his torso. James rushed in as Titan turned around. Astral's eyes softly glowed cyan as his magic was suppressing Titan's.

"How can it use magic like that chain?" Jaimie leaned over and asked.

"It is how I have it programmed for when I face it. But it is now unleashed." Astral kept watching, the twins could stalemate him if they had help, even defeat him. James was furious as his brown hair turned red with his rage as his speed exponentially increased. Each strike James landed on Titan increased his stacks as the hologram slowly felt more realistic. Was this an illusion by Astral or by Titan.

'Don't stop till Astral says.' James launched a strong strike into the abdomen of Titan as it went right through. Blood spurting across the ground as everyone got up into arms and panicked. 'Oh.' James launched another attack with his other hand into the heart of Titan's chest. His hair turning white as he started using the breathing tricks Astral taught him.

"Ah so the spell works from the past and present enemies." Titan looked behind him to the Observatory as the same Titan from the battle tournament was standing there in front of them. "Be glad this is the weakest version of me." Titan spoke as James took off his jaw with the arm from the abdomen. Angel swooped in and beheaded Titan as the body fell limp to the ground, Angel and James hopping away as a circle formed around it. Being burned to a crisp by Astral as he sighed, the pile of ash fading into a purple hue before vanishing.

"What the fuck?" Adam spoke aloud as James and Angel laughed. This eased their minds as the twins hugged each other and took a breath of relief. It may have been a Titan with very little magical use, and him being summoned into place, but they finally did it!

"I do not know how that happened, on how he turned to the real thing." Astral floated downward next to the two of them. "Congrats on beating him!" He started scratching both of their heads as they purred and cooed. "Remember, if you face the real one, he will use his magic." The two nodded as they relaxed. Jaimie slid down the wall for their fight.
