Failed Attempt

After the second duel between Darius and Zack, Darius spent a lot of his time training. His army was being armed with high tech weapons.

Melony after she had recovered from her nose bleeds started slowly fantasying about Darius.

She just couldn't get those muscles and his good looks out of his mind.

'Damn you Darius Blackburn. This all your fault, making me the Imperial princess do this disgusting act of self pleasure." Though Melony as she furiously fingers herself.

It was currently the school holiday and Darius and Crawford were both invited to a dinner party by the Emperor and Empress.

This was the apart of the Empress Evangeline's and Seraphina's plan.

As both grandfather and grandson arrived to the dinner party, it was just them and the rest of the family and the emperor and empress's family.

Eliza and Tybur looked at Darius with stone cold glances, they were slowly giving up on Darius.

Billy and Evie didn't even look at Darius and Vivian also had a stone cold look like her parents.

Darius just walked past them and sat down on the table and got out his phone to play some games whilst he waited for his food.

The servers was all terrified of Crawford and Darius, Crawford was being an asshole and tells them to hurry up with his food and drinks.

Darius on the other hand was polite and patient, he thanked them for bringing the food. This shocked many of the people as they presumed him to be as rude as Crawford.

'So not only is Darius handsome he is polite. Those are the only differences between him and Crawford." Thought Rennala whilst eating.

Darius quickly checked the food for any poison and when he saw that there was none, he began to eat.

As everyone was dining, Seraphina and Evangeline nodded to each other indicating that it was now time to start the ritual.

As Darius was finishing his meal, a chill and down his spine and his senses were going crazy.

He wasn't the only one as Crawford looked at his grandson sensing a disturbance around him. The eyes of Seraphina and Evangeline glow a yellow light.

Darius looks at them and realises what they were doing.

"This is for your own good Darius." Said Seraphina with determination.

Crawford tried stopping them but was blasted with light magic by Evangeline.

Slowly Darius was being engulfed by light and before being fully engulfed he threw a Fire Spear at Vivian in an attempt to injure her so that Seraphina could be distracted by seeing her granddaughter in pain.

But Daniel blocks the attack and glares at Darius, Darius was than engulfed in a light sphere.

Crawford was furious and demanded answers.

"Your attempt has failed Crawford, with this Darius will no longer be like you." Said Seraphina with determination.

Billy and Evie were quiet.

"Will big brother say sorry what he did grandma." Asked Evie with a hopeful tone.

Both Evangeline and Seraphina smiled and nodded yes.

Tybur and Eliza were both quiet, if Darius did change than he would have to do a lot to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.

Crawford just slowly started laughing.

"You think you can change him, he won't. I just know it." Said Crawford as he looked at the sphere of light.

Everyone looked at the sphere of light with different reactions.

Darius POV

What the hell is this place? I was having dinner and those two women did something. I was in a place of pure light.

Slowly the light got darker and I saw my room but it looked destroyed and burnt. I went outside my room and saw the corpses of my family.

I didn't care but was shocked when I saw the corpse of Crawford, this got me thinking on who was powerful enough to kill Crawford.

Suddenly I sensed a presence behind me, I turned back and saw myself.

But this clone of me looked different from me, he was crying as crackles of red lighting sparked around him.

"This is our future, our desire for power and immortality robbed us of everything. It's all your fault." Sobbed the clone.

I raised an eyebrow.

"You definitely aren't me, I would have no such feelings for a family that isn't actually mine. So who are you." I asked curiosly.

The clone just roared in anger and charged towards me, he was being fueled by emotions. This clone may have my powers but not my control.

I moved out of the way and attacked from behind. I casted the spell Inferno.

Inferno is a spell that allows to control flames and is a mixture of fire and dark magic.

I used inferno to shoot skulls of fire (it's similar to Shang Tsung's fire skulls).

The three inferno skulls landed on the back of the clone as his back was burnt and the clone screamed in agony.

The clone grabbed his own black sword and so did I. We dealt blow after blow, I was landing the most attacks.

The one who had the upper hand was me as I was more in control of my emotions than this clone of mine.

Eventually he went for a strike at my head to which I ducked and sweeped his legs with my own leg.

Now that he was on the ground I casted Inferno burning the clone to death. I gazed at his charred body whilst looking at the world around me.

There was a lot of light coming out and I decided to absorb that light. The rays entered my body as I felt a pain in my chest.

I looked inside my magic core and saw that there was a turmoil going on inside.

I sat down and began to use my psychic power to make way for the light into my core.

The core became mixed with a black, red, and yellow colour as my body started glowing and I felt power unlike any other.

My lighting which was once red was now turning into a shade of black and red.

The light was also starting to upgrade my cells.

Then there was an explosion.

As Darius undergoing a power up, the rest were starting to get concerned.

The ritual was supposed to make Darius experience something traumatic happening to his family and the consequences of his actions.

They hoped that this would finally knock some sense into Darius.

Both Seraphina and Evangeline frown as Darius was taking a long time to change.

'That boy is stubborn, why can't he see that his actions will lead him to be more alone and isolated.' Thought Evangeline in frustration.

Suddenly, the sphere of light started cracking. The light faded and was replaced by darkness as the sphere disappeared and there was a figure.

It was Darius and he looked at his hand and saw black and red lighting crackling.

He smiled and looked at Seraphina and Evangeline.

"Thank you grandmother and your majesty, thanks to you I've received a power upgrade." Mocked Darius.

Seraphina and Evangeline widened their eyes in shock as they saw Darius unchanged and still the same person.

Tybur and Eliza looked disappointed, Billy was angry and Evie was sad. Vivian was frustrated.

Daniel grits his teeth.

Crawford smiled with pride and a bit of relief.

"Let's do Darius, we have overstayed our welcome here." Said Crawford.

But before the two can leave Daniel stepped in front of them, his aura flaring.

"DARIUS BLACKBURN!! I challenge you to a duel." Yelled Daniel, pointing his sword at Darius.

Evangeline tried stopping Daniel but was stopped by Neon, he wanted to see how strong Darius was.

Melony looked worried for Daniel as Rennala started to chuckle.

'Daniel you idiot, you have no idea how screwed you are.' Thought Rennala.

Darius grins, he lets out his black and red aura that was bigger than Daniel's aura. Daniel felt scared when he saw that aura and was reminded about the times he got his ass beat by Rennala.

Eliza just looked tired and went teleported to the home of the Dagmires.

Frederick Dagmire comforted her daughter and so did his wife.

As Seraphina was upset at her failed attempt at redeeming Darius.

Evangeline saw some sort of bright yellow light that glowed weakly in Darius's eyes.

She had no idea how that light in his eyes will prove to be a deadly ability and her son will be the first to experience it.
