CHAPTER SEVENTEEN: WHAT IF I KILL ZAYLEY??

"Why did you poison King Zayley, The king of Bel-Hir?!" Minister Mirrun[MINISTER FOR ROYAL AFFAIR], asked.

Dasya, who found his question funny, burst into sudden laughter before he asked. "You call me over for jokes?"

"Dasya! How dare you make fun of the crime you committed?" Queen Aro, who stood up, asked furiously.

"What did you mean?" Dasya asked fearlessly. This time his facial expression changed as he stared astonishingly at them.

Even though he hated Zayley, he would never think of killing him, and if he wanted to, he would have done that a long time.

At the same time, he felt astounded and confused. Who poisoned the king and dragged him into this?

"What did they mean? Dasya, don't you know this lady?" Taliyah, who just walked in with a lady who was bleeding from her mouth, nostrils, and also wounded, asked evidently.

"I know her. What does she have to…" He paused on his words, and took a few suspicious steps forward but got stopped by the guards.

This time, he knew he wouldn't get away from this, and he had to at the same time.

He knew the punishment for an attempted murder was a thousand thunder strokes, and his energy won't be able to hold them in— he wasn't sure if he would survive it.

For the first time in his life, he stared sternly at the elders in the hall with fear in him. He isn't afraid of death, what he is afraid of is not fulfilling his promise.

"She said you are the one who sent her to poison the king". The eldest man in the council, uttered lowly.

"Young lady, come, and confess how you poisoned the king". Minister Mirrun instructed the lady to confess what she did.

"I… I poisoned the king on prince Dasya's order. He also instructed me not to mention his name or my family, and myself is nothing good as getting burnt to ashes". The lady confessed with tears streaming down from her bloodshot eyes.

Truly, Maid Avia was sold to him at age thirteen by her poor family to save her older brother from dying. But can he stoop so low to threaten her with his hellfire?

"Dasya, can you hear that?!" Taliyah asked with hatred filled in her piercing eyes.

"Dasya, you know the punishment for murder attempt, and this time it is not just anyone but our king". Another minister echoed.

He heaved anxiously as he boldly took a few steps towards the men, who were frightened by the sudden look on his face. He knew he had to handle this the other way around!

"What if I want Zayley dead?" His question made everyone in the hall to roll their eyes speechlessly.

"How dare you want the king of this great kingdom dead?!" The loud voice of Mirrun broke the silence in the hall.

"Because I am not the first person to do so". He paused with a faint smile on his face. "What about Zayley in question? What was his punishment when he connived with his mistress to kill his father, who, and seven brothers?" His question made both Dryan, and Aro to gasp.

"Dasya! What are you talking about?!" Queen Aro asked with her vein almost pooping out from her neck as she yelled.

He knew Aro will have no choice than to give up on punishing him, or the elders will be forced to revisit the past incident.

"Dasya, what did you mean, and did you know the repercussions of what you are doing?" The Minister of guidance, and war, asked.

"My elders, pardon him. He is ju—"

"Just a child? Aro, did you still consider me to be that young boy who will always get mad, and think of wasting his flame? Haha, so funny of you". His chuckles made her provoked as she watched him interrupt her amidst the elders. "Or are you afraid the wind might blow up that shade of yours?"

"Mother, just ignored him" . Dryan, who felt ashamed, whispered into his mother's ear.

Without caring about what the elders concluded, he echoed, "Elders, I think my stay is over here". He bowed before he walked out as those old folks could do nothing rather than just watch him leave.

"This time it isn't Zale, it is the devil" Aro roughed her hair before she dismissed everyone except Dryan.

"Taliyah, what are you still waiting for?" Aro asked her daughter, who seemed dumbfounded.

The queen's voice made Taliyah Jotted from her thought, "I'm about to take my leave, but I want to ask you a few questions before I go".

She is not just lost in her thoughts but also curious, she is eager to know what happened because Dasya she knew would never lie.

"About what? What did you want to ask me that can't wait for later?" Queen Aro's cold voice echoed.

"It can't wait until later! Mother, I want to know what is happening in this castle! I'm out of it!" This is the first time Taliyah would yell at her mother. She placed her hand on her little waist with her gaze on her mother, who was furious.

Dryan, who knew their mother wouldn't be able to handle Taliyah's sudden madness, walked up to her. "Taliyah, mother knows nothing about this. Father did not kill anyone, and you know that. You know our father will never hurt a fly, talk more about humans. Dasya is just a liar who wants to get away from his crime".

"Are you certain?"

Luciana raised her gown a little from the ground as she took each step gradually to avoid falling. Even though the mockeries from the princesses sounded loud, she ignored them.

She tried her best to avoid falling until she got to the river, where she played the flute before passing out.

"I remembered vividly, this is the last place I recall coming to. How did I get to his chamber? Has he…?" She asked herself as she tried her best to recall everything, but it was not working, instead, she felt an extreme pain in her head.

"Who are you?" A melodious sound made her turn her gaze to the direction it was coming from.

"Who am I?" After a thorough search for the owner of the voice, Luciana repeated the question in awe.
