The Mayan ceremonial dagger had an inscription in the ancient language that read: "Offer thy heart". It's obviously an instruction left by the past inhabitants of this forgotten place, but who would be stupid enough to stab himself in the heart with a rusty old knife found inside a tombstone?

After activating my battery pack the dagger shimmers brightly in a cyan light, the creatures are coming, I can hear their steps.

They were made of shadows, but they had a definite shape that resembled that of men and women so famished their ribs poked through their skin, which caused a great impression on Uriel.

Up to that point he had looked down on them thinking he would be safe no matter what, only they were anything but harmless. It wasn't just their looks that unsettled him, but a tingling feeling on the back of his skull told him that those creatures might actually be able to kill him.

When the Aku Aku noticed them, they rushed towards them at an incredible speed, but they were met with the invisible protection provided by Ahu Akivi that acted as a barrier that kept them at a distance.
