The Mayan ceremonial dagger had an inscription in the ancient language that read: "Offer thy heart". It's obviously an instruction left by the past inhabitants of this forgotten place, but who would be stupid enough to stab himself in the heart with a rusty old knife found inside a tombstone?
After activating my battery pack the dagger shimmers brightly in a cyan light, the creatures are coming, I can hear their steps.
'It's do or die.'
Story: 5 💫 Plot: 4 💫 Cliche: Low but still present. World: Unique.
This novel is good but I HEAVILY recommend you to read this during the day as there some horror elements and I pulled an all nighter out of fear.
I’m having so much fun with this one! Currently at about chapter 95, so time for a review. Absolutely love the lore of the world, especially as the characters leave the opening setting and venture out. It’s interesting and unique, and a great backdrop to a variety of adventures. Especially with all the creatures. MC starts out with no particular grand ambition beyond pursuing his archeological dream, but he quickly gets wrapped up in more than he bargained for and becomes a reluctant hero. He obviously changes as the plot progresses. His archeology background becomes key to solving mysteries, more a brain-over-brawn beginning then evolving into a more powerful character. I also find MC’s system very clever and exceptionally appropriate for this story. I like that it isn’t just a screen interface. Lots of potential while still having enough limitations to keep things interesting. Side characters have distinctive personalities. Several mysteries are set there that I’m waiting to read more about… The main group is kind of a band of misfits. They feel unique, and I like the bond they form and the ways they interact. Be sure you read far enough to let the characters settle in to their roles. In terms of writing, I have no problem feeling the atmosphere and emotions, visualizing the scenes, characters, creatures, etc… I think the author writes in a way that paints an accurate image without being overly descriptive or wordy. And the action scenes are easy to follow. All in all, definitely recommend! Thanks for the adventure!
About the history: 1. I laughed, scared, frustrated, and even moved by the events. 2. The world is unique and original. 3. The monsters that appear are impressive and easy to imagine and very detailed. 4. The protagonist has a profession rarely seen. 5. The narration is dynamic and detailed, yet the narrator manages to describe the world in such a way that there's still room for the reader's imagination. 100% recommended and a must read for the lovers of mysteries.
this is very good novel although I have only read 25 chapters till now but I enjoyed it very much. story itself is unique and way author has presented it is amazing. writing quality is good. although Mc's personality ispersonally very frustratingly annoying to me but even after that he is enjoyable and others character are also good. novels itself is very high quality so just enjoy it.
I uh, made the mistake of reading it in the middle of the night while camping... weekend trip turned into one night. Fantastic writing! need therapy now...
a good idea executed in the worst possible way ************************************************************************************************************************************
the more you read, the more immersed you get into the world. Starts slow but the story is very intricate and filled with mysteries. what i love the most is that no small detail is meaningless, if you give this a try you'll get what i mean.
-4/5 Writing quality -5/5 Story development-5/5 Character design (The character are all very unique and we'll written)-5/5 Update stability -5/5 World background This book really is a breath of fresh air in the midst of all other system novels, I won't spoil anything but the system is very unique as is the world but most of all the horror elements are very appreciated !!
good read but most of the logic is not logicking for me at all XD.
i love it, the world and story is almost unique , he got the type of accumulating powera i love the most
It took longer then I should have to get to the main smuff and tuff but everything else made up for it SO well
Very good novel (writing, uptade and story) and interesting concept, still don't understand why it isn't more popular.
Overall the story has been interesting, getting past the initial problems with the MC's personality is difficult but he does take on interesting character progression and new flaws. The inconsistent world and character background and the unnecessary amount of cringey and badly developed relationship drama are my main concern for the future of the novel.
The story feels very underwhelming; most interactions feel unrealistic. Additionally, the English not being good just adds to the incongruity of the book. If the author really wants to improve, he/she should picture his/her own interactions with people and ponder if the ones present in the book feel normal. The MC also heavily lacks initiative/focus, even after understanding his ability somewhat and how to progress it. Anyways, good luck improving.
