The Mayan ceremonial dagger had an inscription in the ancient language that read: "Offer thy heart". It's obviously an instruction left by the past inhabitants of this forgotten place, but who would be stupid enough to stab himself in the heart with a rusty old knife found inside a tombstone?

After activating my battery pack the dagger shimmers brightly in a cyan light, the creatures are coming, I can hear their steps.

Uriel closed his eyes and braced for impact as the creature's steps drew closer while he lied on the shallow waters completely defenseless. The pain that coursed through his body let him know that he was fine and the reason he couldn't move was most likely because he couldn't breathe. Thanks to his extensive experience in getting beaten up he knew that it was when he couldn't feel any pain after an attack that he should worry, but now it made no difference since he couldn't even lift his arms to protect his vitals.

The cryptid moved at a normal speed in spite of the Dash skill altering his perception of time, which was a sign of its incredible velocity. It was the first time he encountered a cryptid that fast and it would most likely be the last.

Or so he thought, because from out of the bushes, Luna came bashing at the creature in the complete dark, causing a commotion that shook the earth and caused waves on the shallow water Uriel was lying on.
