The wild girl of Lafayette Part 1

The strange noise managed to startle Uriel and he quicky took out his cellphone. Only after confirming it was working properly, meaning there weren't any cryptids nearby, did he close his eyes to focus on his mystical sense in hopes of identifying the creature that made that noise. His breathing became soft, his heartbeat slowed down and he entered on the deep meditative state that allowed him to expand his consciousness.

"That's weird, I could have sworn there was something up there." He muttered when he couldn't sense any presence.

He walked upstairs still holding the maps in his hands and noticed how the second floor was in much better condition than the first. The bookshelves were in perfect order and all the furniture was in perfect condition. It looked just like any regular library, if not for the many corpses scattered all over the place.
