Ransacking the public library

The old aslphalt road was fooded and there were many obstacles all through its length. fallen trees, vegetation and sometimes even abandoned cars. The more Uriel walked down that road, the more obstacles he encountered which made following it much more difficult than he initially thought.

His traveling speed was slow, but at least he knew exactly where he was heading to. If his theory was correct, the megacity to the east wasn't Baton Rouge, nor was it built in any city of old and that would mean the place he was heading to was Lafayette, or at least what remained of it. Judging by the state of the road and the many battle traces he found along the way, the city of Lafayette must have been a lost city by now.

That could explain not only why did he find an old French manor that should have been near the Mississipi so close to the megacity, but would also provide an explanation as to why the more he ventured west the stronger cryptids he found.
