The Mayan ceremonial dagger had an inscription in the ancient language that read: "Offer thy heart". It's obviously an instruction left by the past inhabitants of this forgotten place, but who would be stupid enough to stab himself in the heart with a rusty old knife found inside a tombstone?

After activating my battery pack the dagger shimmers brightly in a cyan light, the creatures are coming, I can hear their steps.

"Now of all times!?" Uriel let out a growl as he picked up his smartphone from his trait. The wild girl was behaving in a strange way and he could feel something dangerous approaching too, but he had no idea as to what could possibly be the incoming threat.

The smartphone screen was locked, but it wasn't turne off which meant that whatever caused that strange feeling couldn't possibly be a cryptid since they emitted a field of disruption that would cause electric devices to malfunction.
