The Mayan ceremonial dagger had an inscription in the ancient language that read: "Offer thy heart". It's obviously an instruction left by the past inhabitants of this forgotten place, but who would be stupid enough to stab himself in the heart with a rusty old knife found inside a tombstone?

After activating my battery pack the dagger shimmers brightly in a cyan light, the creatures are coming, I can hear their steps.

"You can't call dibs on this! We made the discovery together!" Uriel's eyes now gleamed in bright blue.

"What was that? I can't hear you." Said Sam as he covered his ears with his fingers.

"You!" Uriel started chasing after Sam around the rock formation, while the latter kept pretending he didn't hear him. With every lap they took, the glimmer of the rocks grew stronger in a pulsatile manner and the resonating sound of the rocks became sharper, but the two youthful hunters took notice of this a second too late.

A sudden flash of ligh lit up the place entirely and by the time Uriel came back to himself, Sam was nowhere to be found and the only light nearby came from his tallow torch.
