A Moment Of Peace

Rains' P.O.V.

As we walk back to Zions' office, my thoughts go to my mother. I hope she wasn't upset about me getting overwhelmed yesterday. I wanted to see her this morning, but Zion told me she had an emergency at the coven, and both she and Lady Lana had to leave to handle it. Zion even sent some worriers to assist them.

"It's okay. She'll be back soon." Dosha says.

"What if something happens and she doesn't make it? There are so many things I want to know. I don't even know what she looks like." I say.

"She will be fine. She is the head witch of the strongest coven in the south. Remember?" She argues, and I agree.

"Are you okay, my Queen?" Zion asks, pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Yes, just thinking about my mother," I answer honestly.

"She'll be back soon. If you're that worried about her, you can always call her." Zion says.

"I don't have a phone," I say while staring at my feet as we walk to his office.

"Speaking of phones." He says as he pulls one out of his pocket and hands it to me. "Brand new iPhone 12 Max Pro. It already has your mothers, Jessicas, Orians, Sams, James, Evan, and my numbers saved in the contacts."

"Really?" I ask, and he nods. "Thank you so much. I've never had a phone."

"You are very welcome, my Queen," He says as we walk into his office.

Zion walked around his desk and sat in his chair. When I just stood on the other side of his desk, he called me over to him. I walked around the desk to stand beside him. He grabs me by my hips, picking me up, and placing me on his desk directly in front of him. He then lays his head on my lap and seems comfortable, so I don't complain. When I run my fingers through his hair, I hear a low growl, making me smile, knowing I'm doing something he likes, so I keep doing it.

Seconds later, he's standing up, towering over me with eyes dark with lust. He spreads my legs, then stands between them and leans down, kissing my lips, then he starts slowly traveling down my jaw to my neck, and I feel a warm pressure building up in the pit of my stomach. He moves his kisses to where his mark will be, and a moan slips out of my lips.

"Goddess, I want to mark you right now. I'm not sure how long I'll be able to control myself or Ryker." He says.

"Then don't," I say as I run my hands under his shirt and up his rock-hard abs to his perfectly sculpted chest.

"As much as I would love to continue this, we have company." He says as he straightens up. The door opens, and Jess and Orian walk in.

"Where's Odett?" I ask through labored breaths, and Jess looks at me with a knowing smile, but I try to ignore it.

"She's taking a nap in our room. Don't worry. There's a sitter that she has become used to with her." Orian says with a small smirk of his own while staring at Zion, which he ignores while staring at me.

"Oh, okay, that's fine then," I say. "So where to now?"

"Now we'll show ya'll the grounds around the castle." He says, and I nod.

"Okay, Let's go," I say, jumping off the desk and smoothing out my dress. As we start walking out of Zions' office, he pulls me into him for one more kiss before we leave his office."

"Did you really use an Alpha command on Ashley?" Orian asks, and Jess jerks her head around to look at me.

"How did you know about that?" I ask him, then look at Zion.

"I promise it wasn't me this time." He says quickly.

"The guards talk almost as much as the women around here," Orian says with a shrug of his shoulders.

"So how did everything go with the Ashley bitch?" Jess asks, slightly irritated that I went to see her.

"I let her go," I say simply.

"You what? Why the hell would you do that? She almost killed you!" She says, clearly upset.

"Key word being almost. Plus, I also made her rogue and banned her from the Southern Kingdom." I said.

"Holy hell, man," Orian says with a smile, and Zion just laughs.

"Okay, I'm not mad anymore. I definitely didn't see that coming from you." Jess says.

"Honestly, neither did I," I say. "But every time I tried to be nice to her, she would be such a bitch, and she would purposely try to piss me off.

"After we left the cells, she asked me if she was too harsh," Zion says. "I told her she was going easy on her." We walk out the double doors of the banquet hall again and then walk towards the training ground.

"I know you've seen the training grounds, but I want to show you the weight room and the arena as well," Zion explains as we walk into a huge building. "This is where we do all our weight training and stretches. Everyone in the Royal Guard, whether male or female, train on the castle grounds. We will eventually start a children's training group too."

"How old will they have to be to start training?" I ask.

"As young as eight." He says. "We want everyone to be prepaid and able to protect themselves if they need to." We then make our way to the arena. It's massive. Zion explains that when they have competitions, this is where they will be held. After that, we walk out of the training grounds and find ourselves at the entrance of a beautiful garden.
