Orians' P.O.V.

As Jessica and I are walking to the castle's front entrance, I look over at her and see a beautiful smile on her face as we walk by the big fountain in the center of the driveway. I pull her by her wrist to me, and our lips collide. After a passionate kiss, she pulls back and looks up at me.

"Odett isn't awake, is she?" Jessica asks.

"Nope, The King just wanted a little alone time with his Queen since they were interrupted when they were in his office," I answer, and she laughs.

"Then let's take advantage of this time we have together too!" She says with a huge smile on her face.

"What do you have in mind, beautiful?" I ask out of curiosity.

"A run?" She asks, and I'm all for it.

"Sounds great!" I say as we head towards the wood line.

Right before we get to the wood line, Sam links me, letting me know that I'm needed urgently in Zions' office. I take a deep breath and look at Jessica. Then linking Sam to let him know I'll be there soon.

"We'll have to postpone our run, beautiful. I'm needed in the Kings' office." I tell her. "I'll walk you to our suite so you can be with Odett."

"You don't have to walk me to our suite. I know the way, sweetie." She says, but I shake my head, and we continue walking.

When we make it to our suite, I give Jessica a quick Kiss and take off to Orians' office. When I walk in, Sam and James are both in the office with sullen faces, and I instantly know something is wrong.

"Okay, what's going on?" I say.

"It's the Silver Nyx Coven," James says, and my stomach feels like it's in knots.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"Rains' mother, Lady Lana, and the convoy of worriers that the King sent with them have been attacked." He says.

"How bad is it?" I ask, trying to stay calm.

"There are only four survivors. Rain's mother is in pretty rough shape, and three of the twelve men that were sent made it but are wounded." James answers. "But Lady Lana and the other nine warriors didn't make it out of the attack."

"Shit, Did you tell the King?" I ask.

"Not yet. I wanted to inform you first. And to let you know that we sent another convoy to bring the wounded home. They should be arriving at the hospital soon." Sam says, and I nod in understanding.

"James, I need two guards at my suite door and two at the Queen's door as well," I say, and he nods.

"I've let Zion know that he's needed for an urgent matter. He will be here soon. And so will Rain." James says. "Apparently, she is refusing to go to her room."

"Well, she did use an Alpha command on Ashley in the cells earlier," Sam says, and James looks at him in shock. "Apparently, not everyone has heard. Though I thought you would have been the first to know since your mate was the one guarding the cells at that time"

"She's definitely Queen material," I say with a laugh, and they both agree.

"Do we know who is behind the attacks on the head witches' coven and the convoy?" I ask.

"Not yet. Hopefully, we will find out more when the rescue convoy returns with the survivors." Sam says.

"The guards you have requested at both doors have arrived, Beta," James says.

"Thank you, James," I say as Zion and Rain walk into the office.

Zions' P.O.V.

When Orian tells Rain he has two guards with Jessica and Odett, I know something is wrong, and I start getting knots in the pit of my stomach. I'm starting second-guess letting Rain come with me.

"Like you had a choice. Rain would be here regardless, and you know it." Ryker says.

"Okay, let's get down to business. What's the problem." I say to my men as we make our way around my desk. I sit in my chair and pull Rain onto my lap.

"The Head Witches convoy was attacked. Out of the twelve warriors we sent and the two witches. There are only four survivors." Orian says, and I can feel Rain panic as he continues. "Rains' mother and three of our warriours have survived, and the rescue convoy is on the way back with them as we speak. They will all be taken straight to the hospital, where the doctor and staff have already been alerted."

"Who?" Rain says, Her voice barely above a whisper. "Who attacked them? How many were there?" I take her hand in mine while rubbing circles on her back with my other hand to keep her calm.

"We aren't sure yet, my Queen. We will know more after the rescue convoy arrives with the injured." Sam says with his head bowed in respect.

"What do we know about the attack on the coven?" She asks.

"Not much other than it was rogues, about thirty of them. And it was a surprise attack." Sam replies.

"That many rogues working together?" She says to herself, but it gets us all thinking.

"It has to be some kind of rogue army," I say. "But why attack a coven and not a pack?"

"We still need to investigate, but I think we should call in the Super Natural Council, my King," Orian says, and I nod in agreement. Sam pulls out his phone and makes the call.
