Unexpected Guest

"What's with you?" Marcella patted his arm playfully. 

Tony stopped and looked at her closely. She looked bright in the morning sunlight. 

"Are you happy, Birdie?" he asked. I feel like lately I'm not doing anything for you…I am pretty much…useless."

Marcella hugged him. "Who told you that? Bring them to me. I'll give a tight slap to their face."

Tony kissed her head and rubbed her back. "Slap me," he said. 

Marcella could only chuckle. She used to be so low on confidence and Tony changed that for her. Now that she could function without him, he felt useless. She did have a lot she wanted to ask him but she held back because he was not nearby. Now that he was with her again, she could depend on him more and more. 

"I do have a purpose for you…" she winked at him and handed him a pickle jar. "Open it, please…"
