68. It's Time To Duel!

The next day in the morning.

Before the shop opened and before Ryūhei wanted to go about his usual morning routine, there were already a lot of people waiting in front of the shop, asking when Ryūhei was going to play the card game.

Naturally, Ryūhei had asked them to wait since the shop still hadn't opened yet. But seeing that there were so many people who wanted to take a look, he was a bit hesitant, hesitant about where to play the TCG.

He walked outside, wearing a simple karate uniform while carrying a Bokken. And some people followed him. When Ryūhei saw a nearby Milelith guard, he asked.

"Excuse me, Brother Hongyi. Can I borrow the street in the main plaza to show the game I created? Just 30 minutes, please! My place is not enough to accommodate these many people who want to see me play the game I created." Ryūhei said that while pointing to the people behind him as they nodded to Ryūhei's words.

Hongyi glanced at Ryūhei, then at the people behind him.

"I don't think this is allowed."

"Please, brother! Can you make an exception this time?"

"But… I'm just a rank and file soldier. Sigh, fine then. All I can really do is report this to my superior, who will then pass it up to his superior." Hongyi couldn't refuse after seeing so many people supporting Ryūhei. Moreover, he knew that Ryūhei wasn't the type of person who liked to make trouble.

Hongyi immediately walked toward the Ministry of Civil Affairs to report that to his superior.

Meanwhile, Ryūhei turned to the people who followed him.

"Sorry for the inconvenience. I thought only a few people would come to my shop. But, seeing that so many have come, I don't think my shop can accommodate all of you together."

"Hahaha. No worries. We just wanted to see what kind of game you're gonna play."

About 15 minutes later, Hongyi came back and told them that they were allowed as long as they didn't cause a ruckus.

With that, Ryūhei asked Eni to immediately prepare for the game field.

"Since people are already here, maybe it's better to play the game sooner." Ryūhei muttered.

The field was rather simple as it was only made with printed paper, designed similarly to a duel arena in Yu★Gi★Oh. Then, he put it on the table.

A moment later, Eni came up with a box in her hands. When she opened it, there were several decks neatly arranged, including extra decks next to each deck.

Actually, both Eni and Ryūhei had no idea what those decks were as those decks were arranged by Nibi. Although Ryūhei could get any information from Nibi as they had linked with each other. However, he didn't want to do that as this game would be boring to be played.

"Let's pick one!" Ryūhei said to Eni. Eni nodded, then picked the nearest deck. Meanwhile, Ryūhei picked the one in the middle.

When he checked one of the cards in the extra deck, he saw the Gate Guardian.

"I see. My deck is probably a Labyrinth and Gate Guardian deck."

Ryūhei gave his deck to Eni and let her shuffle it. She also did the same to Ryūhei and he shuffled her deck. After that, both of them put the decks and extra decks on each of their Zones.

Both of them decided on a coin toss. Then, Eni got the first turn.

"Alright. Duel, start!" Ryūhei declared.

Eni nodded.

"Draw!"

Eni drew a card from his deck. Then, she performed a normal summon in an attack position in the monster zone and set the card in the spell & trap zone. Naturally, when the duelists perform a normal summon from the hand, the monster card would be in a face-up position while if performing "set" would be in a face-down defense position.

"My turn is over."

Ryūhei looked at the card she summoned. It was Maiden with Eyes of Blue. Although it was only a level one card with zero ATK and DEF, that card was a rare and troublesome card in the Blue Eyes deck.

"Then, it's my turn. Draw!"

"Special summon, Labyrinth Heavy Tank. This card cannot attack if it is summoned without tributing a card. And I set a card in a spell/trap zone. My turn is over."

As long as Ryūhei didn't attack that card, he would be safe for a moment. Thus, he set a trap card just in case. But, if he didn't attack, she would eventually summon Blue Eyes White Dragon if there was a combo in her deck.

After his turn was over, she drew a card from her deck before setting 2 cards in a spell/trap zone. But, she didn't change her monster card in a defense position.

Ryūhei drew a card. Then, he glanced at Eni.

"You want to bait me into attacking? Fine then, I set a monster card in a defense position and set a card in the spell/trap zone. Due to the effect of the Labyrinth Heavy Tank, I can perform a special summon Suijin, Kazejin, or Sanga from the deck, hand, or graveyard to the spell/trap zone in the face-up position. I'll pick Sanga from my deck. Then, I shuffle my deck. Switch to a battle phase. Labyrinth Heavy Tank, attack the opponent card!"

Ryūhei smirked. He guessed that Eni would use a trap card. But he already set a trap counter and a monster effect counter. So, this attack would reduce her life points.

Eni chuckled.

"Hehe, master. You declared the attack already. Activate a card effect, Maiden with Eyes of Blue!"

When he heard what she said, he grinned.

"Activate a trap card!" Ryūhei cried out. "Divine Wrath. When your monster effect is activated, I discard 1 card to negate the activation, and then destroy that monster."

"Activate a trap card, Counter Counter! Negate the activation of a Counter Trap Card, Divine Wrath, and destroy it!" Eni declared while flipping the trap card from the face-down to the face-up position in the zone. But, Ryūhei didn't want to lose as he flipped another trap card in the zone.

"Activate a trap card, Trap Jammer! Negate the activation of that card and destroy it!"

"Activate a trap card, Fake Trap! When my opponent activates a trap, spell, or monster effect that would destroy a trap card I control, then destroy this card instead. In other words, my trap card, Counter Counter, still affects your trap card, Divine Wrath. Hehe." Eni giggled after seeing Ryūhei's funny expression.

Meanwhile, Ryūhei was dumbfounded by this development. He didn't expect that she predicted his action and could counter the trap cards he prepared for this battle phase.

"Fuck! Are you fucking kidding me? She is a puppet, but I lost in the battle of wit?"

He could only scold himself inwardly.

Then, he heard her speak.

"The moment this card is attacked, it changes into a defense position and cannot be destroyed. After that, special summon one Blue Eyes White Dragon from the hand, deck, or graveyard. I choose from the deck, then shuffle the deck."

Her bait was successful. Truthfully, she expected that Ryūhei would set counter-trap cards when she didn't change her monster position after setting 2 cards in the spell/trap zone. But, it was her plan all along.

The audience also cheered for Eni after the chain of trap battles and summoning a Blue Eyes White Dragon with 3000 ATK, which was undoubtedly higher than Ryūhei's monster card.

"My turn is over." Ryūhei declared.

"My turn! Draw! I discard Sage with Eyes of Blue to the graveyard. Activate the effect, and send a level one card, Maiden with Eyes of Blue, to the graveyard. Then, special summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon from my deck! Switch to the battle phase! Blue Eyes White Dragon, Attack the Labyrinth Heavy Tank!"

After Eni declared her attack, Ryūhei flipped the last trap card on the field.

"Activate a trap card, Widespread Ruin! When my opponent's monster declares an attack, destroy the 1 Attack Position monster my opponent controls with the highest ATK. But since you have two with the highest ATK, I chose the Blue Eyes White Dragon which hasn't attacked yet."

From the people's view, it was clear that Ryūhei was at a disadvantage. Some people behind Ryūhei didn't understand when they saw Ryūhei held a card with 3000 defense, but didn't summon it. Thus they asked him in a whisper. Ryūhei simply replied.

"Normally, you can only directly perform a Normal Summon as long as the card is level 4 or below. The level I mentioned is the number of stars on the card. If you want to summon a level 5 or 6 card, you need to tribute 1 monster card on the field, or you can say sacrifice 1 monster card on the field. Then if you want to summon a card level 7 or above, you need to tribute 2 cards."

"But, Miss Eni summoned level 8 dragons with just sacrificing 2 monster cards." One of the audience commented.

"I can explain that!"

When Ryūhei wanted to reply, a pleasant and charming voice of a woman was heard by them.

It was a woman with purple hair and fake cat ears that suddenly appeared in the crowd.
