The battle against Blaine PT. 1

The battle with Blaine came upon them quickly with though they were ready for it. Vali looked at him as they walked towards the battlefield, "So rules?"

"All in just like our first battle together as a Master an apprentice," Blaine answered earning a nod, "We will stay out of it though if Elrond sees something in your mind that he thinks is a good idea then that's fine,"

Vali nodded as she felt Elrond's pokeball heat up a little and his connection flare, "So when we get there, we'll release everyone and explain the rules then start it off?"

"Yup," Blaine smiled brightly, "Try not to pout about me kicking your butt too much, Kid,"

Vali snorted softly, "Pout? You'll be the one groaning about a little brat kicking his cranky ass when when we knock your pokemon out."

Blaine let out a bark of laughter as they reached the battlefield training area and entered it after the old man entered the door code. Releasing their pokemon, Vali saw that Blaine only had six pokemon to her entire team though she'd be keeping Magby beside her for the match since he was still a bit too new for her to do this. Blaine spoke as they all stood together, "Alright everyone, we've got the match that you've all been waiting for. Vali, Magby sitting out?"

"Yeah, he's still a bit too new. Next month would have been best, I'd say, but for now I'm keeping him back," Vali said earning a nod while Magby looked disappointed, "Hey, don't think like that, Magby. You're getting stronger every day," She smiled down at him, "You'll be studying them and using the knowledge you gain today to ensure you're able to fight beside our pack members next time, darling," Magby perked up at that, "I see that you understand now," She looked at Blaine, "Well, I guess we should begin now," She looked at their pokemon, "Blaine and I will not be telling you guys anything. No orders will be given to either side, Elrond, you'll be free to scan my mind during the battle and give out suggestions should something interesting pop up,"

Elrond nodded to her. Galadrial let out a soft coo and approached with a determined look. Vali nodded to her, "If you wish to participate, you're allowed though return to my shadow should you wish to stop."

A determined nod was given by the Litwick. Vali realized with a start that Galadrial was getting bigger and growing black symbols on her body. It was likely she'd be evolving soon. Blaine spoke again, "Well everyone, it's time. I want you to move away from us then get started on our mark."

Everyone separated with Blaine's six on one side and her pack on the other. Vali looked at his six pokemon as the seconds ticked by. Blaine had chosen his Magmar, Ninetails, Flareon, Delphox, Arcanine, and Rapidash for the battle. Each a powerful pokemon had been a member of Blaine's elite team save for Delphox, they were each a member of his true team and she'd be damned if they lost this battle. The fire within her burned as everyone stopped moving and began staring at their opponents. She spoke as silence fell in the room, "Everyone ready? GO!"

No one moved for a second before Smaug shot forward with a Flamethrower aimed at Blaine's Magmar. A bang filled the air Magmar lept forward to meet him with a loud roar of approval. Balto howled and went for Blaine's Arcanine while Aragorn joined Thorin in heading towards the Flareon. Elrond rushed Delphox with Galadrial. Arwen and Pippin raced towards the Rapidash. Irmo joined and Eowyn joined Balto. Idril began attacking the Rapidash. Empress joined Smaug. Pele created crowd control Bombur who looked somewhat overwhelmed though determined. Terra joined Pele and Bombur while Celina took on air support as best she could. Each of them found of position and got in a pot-shot where they could against another of their opponents, it was amazing.

Vali looked at the fight carefully as fire flared and rocks were thrown around. Blaine spoke as attacks roared to life, "The strength of their attacks is much stronger. The way they're dividing and how aware of each other they are. Each of them has fought hard to become stronger."

"We've reached a new level," Vali answered as Magby leaned against her watching everyone with wide eyes, "Each of them found a way to integrate themselves into a fight like this. Pele, Bombur, and Terra are defenders with Idril being mixed. Celina is an air defender/attacker. Elrond psychic defense and attack. Pippin for Electrical defense and offense. Galadrial our ghostly defense and offense. Balto and Arwen are speed. Smaug, Thorin, and Empress are tanks. Eowyn has a mix of speed and stealth same with Galadrial. Irmo is somewhere in the middle of it though he might just become a tank if all turns out well. Magby has the chance to become a tank with defender capabilities."

"Very true," Blaine nodded as Smaug dodged under one of Magmar's attacks and the lava pokemon found a water-gun blasted in his face moments later, "Good coverage though a grass-type could be useful,"

Vali shrugged slightly, "So could a few others, I might find one at some point later on, but for now, I'll be fine with my pack as is since we're still melding together with Magby working on joining the group in battles like this."

Magby perked up a bit as he looked up at her then he heard a large boom. Smaug growled loudly as he strained against Magmar. The boom sound came from them slamming into each other. Vali bit her bottom lip as she saw the blood trickling down from Smaug's mouth and knew something was damaged. Empress moved back a bit before attacking the Arcanine with Balto. It was clear that Smaug wanted to take on Magmar alone which said a lot. It was a matter of pride and they all knew not to interfere unless it was truly needed. Looking at the sight, she grimaced a little before turning her head towards Blaine, "A battle of pride."

"Indeed," Blaine nodded as Magmar started laughing, "Prideful pokemon fighting it out," A large grin formed on his face, "Ah how wonderful it is to see Magmar actually working in a fight. He's truly enjoying himself as are every member of my team,"

"Same with the pack though they're perhaps not as much as your team," Vali replied with a slight wince as Eowyn was tossed away by Ninetails only for the Houndour to shake it off with a howl and leap back into battle, "They're focused on winning,"

"And it seems that the first of my team is falling," Blaine said with a wry smile as his Delphox, Delphi, was knocked out, "Looks like we're down one,"

Blaine returned Delphi with a low sigh as Elrond and Galadrial shifted their attention to Rapidash. Vali looked around carefully and noted that she'd have to return Bombur at some point soon as he was looking slightly rough. She hissed a bit at the sight of Thorin getting slammed into and being Flamethrowered in the face by the opposing Flareon though when the flames died down he was just fine if a bit ashy. He let out a growl and released a large Shadow Ball that exploded on the Floreon's ruff. The Flareon was sent back allowing Thorin to get up while Aragorn slammed into Flareon with a the cool bluish energy of Zen Headbutt wrapped around his head. Thorin shook himself off before letting off the cheerful energy of Helping Hands that coiled around his Pack-mates giving them portions of his strength and boosting him in turn. Vali let her inner flame flare a small amount through their bond in encouragement earning a welcoming howl as Thorin kept up his helping-hands and rushed Flareon with blackened mouth for Bite. With pride filling her, she watched as Flareon was taken down not a moment later through Aragorn's use of his newly learned Inferno.

Blaine whistled softly at the wild-fire-like structure that exploded from Aragorn as Thorin lept back. Vali spoke as she grinned at her pokemon, "He's just managed that two days ago.'

"Damn," Blaine grinned at her, "Great job, he'll just need to learn Flare Blitz and you'll be ready for him to evolve since he'll have all the natural fire-type moves he can learn,"

Vali shook her head, "He's still got some growing to do before then, but yeah, he's getting there."

Blaine chuckled as he returned Flareon and they watched the battle again. Vali returned Bombur and Irmo as the two collapsed. Thorin turned to Ninetails with a loud growl while Aragorn raced towards Arcanine with a growl. Vali looked at Arwen as the Ponyta slammed into the Rapidash with a harsh breath using Bounce. Rapidash shook it off for all of a second before Galadrial sent a Shadow Ball slammed into his face. Elrond followed up with a Thunder Bolt causing Rapidash to scream. Rapidash was looking rough, but Arwen looked a lot rougher. Idril hopped out of the dirt moments after Rapidash started trying to achieve distance with a fury of Shadow Claws earning an interested sound from Blaine. She glanced at him as Rapidash released a loud scream and reared with energy in his hooves only to be caught in psychic by Elrond. Blaine spoke as Rapidash thrashed against the hold, "Fury swipe only Shadow Claw?"

"It's a weaker version of Shadow Claw," Vali replied as Rapidash was steadily beaten down into a pulp by her pokemon, "Basically Fury Swipes layered with dark-type energy. We call it Shadow Swipes,"

"Interesting," Blaine nodded to himself as Rapidash finally came to a stop and Elrond came over to drop the poor thing before him, "Oh dear,"

"I do believe we're in the lead for the moment," Vali replied as she grinned at Elrond.

"You are," Blaine shook his head as he returned Rapidash, "But Ninetails, Arcanine, and Magmar weren't known as the unbeatable trio for nothing back when I was an elite, you'll have to do quite a bit to bring them down,"

Vali nodded as she shared a look with Elrond who was very likely giving everyone a speech at the moment, "We know, but it doesn't matter. We're better than most."
