The Fall of a Chancellor

The twilight painted the skies of Coruscant with golden and orange hues, reflecting off the silver towers and mirrored glass of the skyscrapers. The streets were still bustling, speeders slicing through the air, while the citizens of the Republic carried on with their routines. However, for two Jedi running through the walkways of the Senate Plaza, that evening marked a decisive moment in the history of the galaxy.

Anakin Skywalker and Will Kriss moved with urgency. Anakin, now with his mind cleared by the conversation he had with Will moments earlier, felt the weight of his actions and the manipulations Chancellor Palpatine had exerted over him. Will, dressed in Jedi robes with green tones and details inspired by the ancient warriors of the Old and High Republic, remained focused. His lightsaber, a family relic that had once belonged to the legendary Jedi Master Avar Kriss of the High Republic, swayed slightly at his belt as he ran, his agile body keeping pace with Skywalker.

"We have to be quick," Anakin said, his voice filled with determination. "If we wait too long, it might be too late."

Will nodded. He knew that Masters Windu, Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar, and Saesee Tiin were already in the Chancellor's office, confronting him. They had left shortly before, determined to stop the Sith threat that had been rising in the shadows for years. Now, it was crucial they arrived in time to help them before something irreversible happened.

As they ascended the final ramp toward the grand doors of Palpatine's office, they felt an overwhelming pressure in the Force. It was as if an invisible storm was unfolding inside, a fierce battle of wills and power.

The doors opened with a soft hiss, and the two Jedi stepped into the massive chamber, decorated with the signature luxury of the Supreme Chancellor. But what they saw made their blood run cold.

At the center of the room, a frantic battle was taking place. Mace Windu gripped his purple lightsaber firmly, his Vaapad technique flowing perfectly as he faced the Sith Lord. Palpatine, now revealed as Darth Sidious, moved with supernatural speed, wielding two red lightsabers, their blades slicing through the air with deadly precision. Kit Fisto was still at his side, defending himself skillfully, but the lifeless bodies of Agen Kolar and Saesee Tiin lay on the ground, their expressions frozen in the horror of sudden death.

Anakin didn't hesitate. With a swift leap, he activated his blue lightsaber and charged at the Sith, joining the fight. Palpatine let out a cold laugh, his yellow eyes gleaming with satisfaction.

"Ah, young Skywalker... you have finally made your choice."

"I have, yes," Anakin retorted, spinning his blade in a fierce attack. "And it's not at your side!"

As the duel intensified, Will felt a calling in the Force. His eyes scanned the room, and he perceived the source of the oppressive energy. Scattered throughout the chamber were ancient artifacts, Sith holocrons, and statues emanating a dark energy, amplifying Sidious' power.

Mace Windu noticed the young Padawan's hesitation and, with a firm look, shouted:

"Padawan! The artifacts! They're strengthening the Sith! Destroy them now!"

Will didn't hesitate. His feet slid across the polished floor as he rushed toward the first corrupted object. With a fluid movement of his lightsaber, he destroyed an ornate statue, releasing a wave of dark energy that dissipated into the air. The entire room seemed to vibrate.

Palpatine roared in frustration. His body trembled for a moment, and Kit Fisto seized the opportunity to advance with a precise strike. However, the Sith's monstrous agility prevailed, and one of Palpatine's red blades sliced through the air in a brutal attack, striking the Nautolan's arm. A cry of pain echoed through the room as Kit Fisto fell to his knees, his left arm severed by the crimson blade. Even wounded, he refused to collapse completely, using his Force connection to remain conscious and alert.

Will continued his mission, striking down each dark artifact he found. Holocrons exploded into sparks of pure energy, and the atmosphere grew less suffocating as the sources of dark power were eliminated. His heart pounded rapidly, but he knew he had to keep going.

Anakin and Mace Windu fought fiercely against Sidious, pushing him back more and more. With the loss of the artifacts that empowered him, Palpatine fought with even more aggression, his two blades spinning like crimson whirlwinds.

Finally, Will reached the last artifact: a black relic engraved with Sith runes. As he destroyed it, a blast of energy swept through the room, knocking everyone back. Palpatine staggered, his expression contorted with fury.

Mace Windu seized the opportunity and disarmed the Sith with a precise strike. The two red lightsabers rolled across the floor, and Palpatine, now vulnerable, cast a desperate look at Anakin.

"Skywalker... please..."

Anakin hesitated for a moment, his heart torn between what he felt and what he knew was right. But then, his eyes met Will's. The young Padawan looked at him with confidence, reminding him of the truth they had uncovered together. Anakin took a deep breath, regaining his determination.

Mace Windu raised his lightsaber to end the Sith threat once and for all.

The combatants' breaths were heavy. Kit Fisto was injured but alive, pressing against the wound where his arm once was. Will felt the exhaustion in his muscles but also the relief of having completed his mission. He turned to Anakin, who still seemed shaken but resolute.

Mace Windu observed them for a moment, then exhaled deeply and nodded.

"You shouldn't have been here... but your help was invaluable." He cast a grateful look at both of them. "Your actions prevented an even greater threat from taking form. The Jedi Council will need to hear about this."

Will and Anakin nodded. They had interfered with the fate of the galaxy in an irreversible way. But, for now, they knew they had done the right thing.
