The feeling of joy burst Lynx's heart open as he hugged the people before him, it was as if he hadn't seen them in years.
"Ave, Lil, K, Han, Pall, LC" Lynx said in breaking, trembling voice as he whimpered their names through tears.
"What's the matter with you, oh stop crying and come on" a little girl said as she pulled Lynx's arm and the others push him to his feet so he could stand, he felt wobbly at first, but as the children helped him he could stand. He walked into the building and looked around. He started helping them as time and days passed he was living his simply life again. But slowly Lynx realized that ever passing time the time got darker and he got more tired and that's when he was asked a strange question.
"Say Lynx when are you going to leave this place? You've been in this place for a long time now"
"Yeahh, Lynx don't you have something else to do?"
"Exactly you don't normally stay here this long, so don't you have some unfinished mission". A man then walked in and added a line.
"You got stuff to do, can't just stay here, get up"
"Yeah, yeah go out Lynx and then bring back a story"
As they spoke Lynx's eye widen as something felt amidst, there was an unexplainable feeling surfacing within.
"I have something to do?" Lynx muttered in a low voice. As he asked himself the question he remembered something as his eyes sung open. His lashes slowly separated as his eye became visible.
"That's right they died"
With the strength Lynx mustered he stood to his feet and continued his life threatening path leaving a trail of blood with each step. He dragged his exhausted and bruised body across the floor, what felt like an eternity was now a reality as he reached his final destination. He entered a dark dimly lit room that luminated with each step he took. In the middle of the room there a ball looking object floating, the object was so clear it looked almost invisible. His eyes gleamed with accomplishment, but because he was in so much pain it could hardly be seen. Lynx staggered forward holding onto the little consciousness he had left. He was now face to face with the orb, only about a meter away. With a shaky body he staggered forward when he was close enough he exhaled loudly and tried lifting his hand to touch the orb. It took him a few seconds before he managed to lift his hand and when he did he felt his body falling over, but he push his body forward so if he was to fall he would do so touching the orb. As his finger where only mere inches away from contact the most unexpected thing happened. Spikes appeared from all sides of the room and pierced Lynx's body, his blood splashed everywhere including on the orb that was in front of him. The spikes were from the roof, the floor and walls as they pierced all of Lynx's vital organs. The only reason his body was standing was because the spikes held his body in place. His blood trailed on the spike and pattered to the floor forming a puddle that rippled with each drop of blood.
Lynx's eyes were left wide open from shock as the spikes pierced through his skull, neck, ribs and other places. Everything he worked for was coming to an end and it came without warning, his efforts were in vain. He received an instant death blow, but somewhere deep in the back of his head or deep within his soul gave him energy to hang on for a second or two.
"Touch it" a voice whispered low and eerily
The spikes then retraced and with those words Lynx reached forward and as the spikes pulled away he pushed his body forward and his fingers faintly glazed the orb before his body flapped to the floor and blood leaked from his body puddling around him.
Lynx then jumped awake as if he was just resurrected with a terrified expression, heart banging from his chest and body covered in sweat. He swiftly looked around and as he did he felt an intensive pain in his body, especially his head and heart. He stayed still as only with movement he felt the pain and eventually he fell asleep. After a few hours Lynx woke up and felt no pain, he got up from his bed and went to the door. His head was slightly dizzy and had forgotten all about the weird incident that happened when he tried to open the door before. He stepped outside and saw all the applicants discussing the exam, some said it was easy and how they aced it, while others said it was manageable and others disagreed. Lynx stood by the rails observing everyone and then a group of boys walked over to him.
"If it isn't the clown" a boy snickered with his hands fold.
"Got to hand it to you man you're the biggest joke I know. The fact that you made Trigan laugh" another added while chuckling.
"And that's all you'll ever be, a j, o, k, e"
"You sure he can spell?" a boy outburst with laugher.
"Soon you'll realized that poor useless people like you are clowns, nothing more but something less" a boy added.
The boys were mocking and adding multiple remarks and Lynx only stood in place silently with a readless emotion as if he was trying to understand them. Soon Ash saw the boys near Lynx and could tell they meant no good, he walked over to Lynx so he could confirm his suspicion and he was correct, they meant no good. Ash went up to them glaring with an irritating look, they just chuckled and walked away waving.
"Sooner or later you'll come to realize that peasants like you don't belong, you are all nothing but jokes" a boy said looking over his shoulder.
Ash then turned to Lynx who still wore an expressionless face, Ash couldn't read his emotion which he found very irritating and so he scoffed before leaving. Ash went to his room and Lynx remained where he was and observed the others. The applicants spent the rest of the day having fun as there was nothing else for them to do. In the blink of an eye the day ended and the applicants were awaken by a loud alarm, they all woke up and gathered in a clear space. Soon the area was flooded with dinging sounds, they applicants turned to their wrist bands knowing results were out.
"Disappointment first thing in the morning, yeah" a boy said tiredly.
"Couldn't they have done this later, I mean we just woke up"
"Agreed"
As the applicants mumbled in disappointment and glee a man then walked in and sent congratulations to the applicants who passed.
"Congratulation to all those who passed and for those who failed don't fret at least some of you don't have to. You'll receive a review of your exam and for those who failed by a few marks can submit their results to other schools and hope for an acceptance and for those who failed badly well… you know the deal, try again next year or something" a man said with a funny tone.
After about an hour of talking the applicants who failed was dismissed and they bid their friends farewell before leaving. The remaining applicants then boarded spaceship and flew off. One hundred and eighty applicants passed which was a small number compare to the amount that applied, but it was an expected outcome, every year thousands of students apply and only a handful are accepted. They flew off and the closer they got the more the anticipation could be felt, the academy was a massive skyscraper that was located above the city, but not over it. The academy hovered above and was split into three areas, one for the first years, one for the second years and the last for the third years. The academy had everything to accommodate the students, the school had everything like dorms, training grounds, play centers and more, so there was little to no use to go to the city. The view of the academy was astonishing and breathtaking for the most and they felt dumbfounded as it looked way more massive than in videos. They finally arrived at the gates and stepped off the spaceship. They felt great achievement knowing they were walking on the grounds of the Robotic Core Academy.
They stood by the gates where they were once again welcomed by a robot, soon robots gathered around them and upgraded there wrist watch to its full version. The wrist watch now had more information like there name, school id number, rank, class status, achievements, points, merits, demerits, money and so on, along with other school information and schedules. The students swiped over the screen just to familiarize their self with the system. A notification was sent to everyone and they opened it up and it displayed their dorm room. They were then split into smaller groups and was given a short tour of their campus area. They were then given permission to explore the campus more or head to their dorm room to sort things out or get to know their dorm mates, they then scattered and did one of the following. As they walked around the first years saw a lot of second year and third years and wondered why they were in there area since they were breaking a rule. One of the rules of the academy was each grade was to stay in their area but for some reason no one really followed it and there was no consequence when someone broke it, but the first years didn't know that so they stayed in their area. The second and third years observed the first years and start making bets, picking out those who would make it or fail and others laughed and spoke other things about them.
"Not a rather pretty set if I say so myself" a third year said while eyeing the first years.
"Well that depends on what you call pretty" another chuckled while answering and snapped a photo. "Well got work to do" the boy said before walking off.
"Anything other than taking pictures" the boy questioned following the boy's movement as he walked away.
"Of course not" the boy laughed in response.
Ash told Lynx he was going to find his dorm and Lynx said he was going to look around more, but before they parted Ash asked Lynx if he could manage on his own which Lynx replied by nodding. Ash then told Lynx his dorm number and added him to his message panel and told Lynx to find him if something happened. After walking for some time Ash found his dorm room and entered. Upon entering he saw five bags, he picked up one and his watch beeped unlocking it. He then took one of the five rooms and entered, he then unpack his luggage and started exercising. He was there for only three minutes when another boy entered, doing the same thing. The boy took his luggage and took one of the rooms, he could see that someone else was there as the name was displayed on a screen tab by the door.
"Ash Redbyon, hmm" the boy whispered to himself.
After entering the room his name was also displayed on a screen tab. Ash then walked from his room and saw that someone else had arrived, but he ignored it and went for a bottle of water, he took some water and was walking to his room when he heard the door unlocking. He walked closer to see who it was and when he saw who walked through the door he choked on the water he was about to swallow.
"Lynx!" Ash shouted while coughing
"Ash?" Lynx said calmly as if he expected to see him
