CHAPTER 3 - BULLET – 2

Kya instantly disputes my claims that anyone can do what I just did, yelling back that if someone doesn't have earth energy or wind energy, how could they ever perform such acts?

Her face extrudes anger and confusion, expecting a fully explained answer. Listen, Kya; you can use these bullets with no magic at all, actually. It takes a lot of work but think about a sword. You don't need anything special to hold it and swing, right? Kya responds well, yea, you just swing it around, but that's practically just a small pebble.

Correct this small "pebble" I put extra emphasis on this word. It has the power to rule nations if used right. However, by itself, it can do no more than a pen can write a story without a writer. What we need is a gun to actually use this, and even then, we would have a lot more work to make this firable. As I talk, my nerd side comes out from the old world, showcasing my love for firearms and their design complexity.

Arlo and Kya look at each other, both sharing a confused look, and put their hands on their chin, trying to imagine what I said. Arlo, shortly after, responds to my statement with, "What is a "gun" and where did you come up with this?

That's a great question, Arlo. ( Shoot, think of something ) I uh. Read about it in a book about ancient weapons, of course. I went back to check the book, but someone else took it, so regardless, the best way to visualize the gun. Imagine a Bow & Arrow. The gun is the Bow, and the Arrow is this small pebble. You insert 8-30 Pebbles into a Magazine which is what holds it in the gun, by the way.

Finally, all you do is fire the trigger, and it gets sent out down a barrel, just like we did the practice test with your wind barrel, which was our first test to see if it actually works!

The hard part is building a gun. It takes a high quantity of metal that we don't have at the moment, and then we need to create gunpowder. As we adventure in this world, Arlo, we must create this gun to boost our weaponry!

Kya responds with doubt in her voice and a large amount of skepticism; So you mean to tell me that you read a book, and after one day of reading, you gathered all this information from it? Returned the book and then could never find it again?

Well, yea, Im a quick reader and love to create stuff. Maybe it's because im an Earth user; I just like to build, you know. Giving Kya a fierce smile that would make the grumpiest heart turn into a smile.

Kya responds, " Well, I guess if Arlo trusts you, then I will give you a chance to prove your tongue against your claims. What exactly is gunpowder, though, and why is it needed?

It is a bit complicated, but it is three chemicals mixed together to form a powder. You take this powder and put it in a casing that goes around the bullet head. Then the gun has a hammer that hits a firing pin that hits the bullet's casing sending the bullet head out at high velocities.

One day when the time is right, I will teach you both how to use it based on what the book taught me! However, that, as I said, will take a lot of time and effort. Some of which we probably won't be able to do. We will need to learn how to make molds for the items to construct a small gun. However, I will figure it out, so don't worry.

In the meantime, Kya, why don't you tell us a bit about yourself? We have never seen you around the town or crop fields before. If we are to follow your greatness, we must know why you are oh so great after while smirking at my sarcasm that was obvious as a tree having green leaves.

Kya completely misses the sarcasm and bridges the brightest smile with cherry-red cheeks that are probably hot to the touch. I, the great Kya, have just arrived in this village in the last week, and I travel with the kingdom's Clerics in search of strong Spirit users to join the religious sector.

However, I have no passion for working as a Cleric between you and me. They are all so creepy, and you can never read them!

Why is that? Arlo asks.

It's because they are always blindfolded, so you can't even see what they are thinking, and they rarely show any emotions. They found me at a young age when my village on the outskirts of a village in the northern Mountain range was attacked by a massive beast that killed almost everyone.

My goal is to become the strongest Fire Spirit user and the best overall fighter alive. Then I can avenge everyone that was murdered. Even if I was too young to remember all of their faces, I could imagine it was a nightmare, and if the beast ever attacks another village, I want to be ready.

In order to become the strongest, I need to surround myself with strong fighters who can help me grow. Furthermore, I saw a burning fire in the both of you, so I wanted you to join me in the journey to become stronger!

I see; that is a rather tragic backstory. If I can in the future assist you, I will. However, I don't plan on ever leaving this place. My goal is to protect everyone in my life, and I also want to become strong enough to make those visions a reality.

So if that means me venturing out into the world to do so, then I will.

We still have plenty of daytime. How about we look over that book on fighting styles? I know some myself, but I have never been great at fighting.

Sure, let's go ahead and check out all the fighting styles. Kya answers back.
