"Is there any, like, some sort of skill or job that let's you combine, or disregard some skills?"
"Why so?"
"I have some skills in hand that I just use too often, like [Sword Slash] and [Paralysis Claw], and some are kind of repetitive like [Swift Nimble], and [Shadow Dash]"
"And you want to disregard them?"
"If I can combine them, that would be efficient"
She then sat down just a distance from me, as we settle down outside of our camp, as we leisurely took our time after we took our lunch
"[Skill Combine], a skill that let's you combine skills to make a new skill, owned by a [Black Smith Class]. It doesn't need to be the same skill with the same effect, as long they are the same in class, or doesn't have a lot of gap between their classes, you can combine them"
"Do you know where to meet someone then?"
"There's someone I know that I am very close with, it just that her place is quite far away from where we are, maybe half longer than the time when we visited my place"
"She doesn't stay inside a tower? Why?"
I puzzledly, and curiously asked
"Well, she has her reason I suppose?"
"I suppose?"
She the lean her back to the chair, as she responded
"We didn't meet each other for a long time now, so I don't know much about her than I used to be, except for her location of course. But if she's still the same as ever, then she might be the same, 'I don't want to be tied with some people who thinks they can rule with others' or something"
"I see, can we meet her then? I really wanted to fix this stats of mine as soon as possible. Having too much skills in hand that can't be use, or already overshadowed by other skills is quite a drag"
"Unfortunately, we can't. During the [Shōten no Taigun], no one is allowed to go outside the tower, even using [Teleportation Array] isn't allowed, though we can use [Transmission Point] inside our tower, and only inside the tower, but that's it, and nothing more. If someone dare to break such rule, then not only the tower will disappear, but including you"
"..."
Hearing her words, I was perplexed and shocked
"What if it someone who just got out of nowhere, get in between this mess?"
"Then unfortunately, that price will be paid by the tower manager, who held that person in"
"What?"
"It didn't only occurred once where civilians, or some people were caught in such mess, it already happened way back, long before you and I were born"
She then leaned her chin on her left arm, as she crossed her legs and continued
"It was written in history that they tried to evacuate some people who were inside the tower that time, but regrettably, they paid a he ah price for it. As soon those people step outside the tower during that, event, they suddenly vanished, one by one, leaving no one behind, even the tower they were staying disappeared"
Frowning to her words, I then asked
"If they all vanished, who wrote it then? Like who watched those event and wrote it?"
"Well, I don't know myself, but truth be told, it wasn't merely just a joke or some scary tales"
"How?"
She then smiled as she stated
"Cuz some people like you, were already gone before they could see the end"
Raising my eyebrow as she said that, she then continued
"As there were no backup to those claims, as it was quite long ago, some people think it was merely some legend, or old housewife rumors, even thinking as some kind of weird story and such, and made some consequences, they could never fix"
She then looked upfront and added
"Many of them, especially those who are new in managing, and doesn't much care about rumors and tales, already paid a heavy price when they tried running away from it, to only meet their end right after. They tried to get away as soon as the event started, but not even their tower could be seen right after. This problem or issue keeps going on and on, never ending nor stopping, which is quite annoying and really stupid to hear. People with brains as small as a worm are quite a headache really"
"Are they young, wild, and free?"
She then looked at me and spoke
"Sadly they are, and some are merely bag of old potatoes, who only think with themselves and nothing more, believing that they are always right and never been wrong, and the worst are those who think they knew everything. *sigh*, diversity I guess"
"Or skill issue"
She then looked at me, and shrugged as she closed her eyes
"But if you really wanted to change those skills, by combining them, I suggest you to stock some [Mastery Points] on them before you combine them, so that when you do, those points will add up together, which will be efficient way"
"I see"
Thinking it thoroughly, it is indeed a good idea. After I have rested enough, I then stood up
"Going already?"
"I already have my fill and rested enough, so yeah, can't laze around when the time is ticking"
She then smiled as she looked at me, leaning her head on her right arms as she teasingly spoke
"I guess even children grow"
And as I was about to leave, and not caring her words, I then suddenly asked as I turn around, and looked at her
"I just realized this but, can we invite your friend here in our tower? I think having a [Black Smith] here could make a huge difference"
"Oh don't worry about that, she's the 1st in my list anyway, she's the finest Smith I known of, so there's no way I would miss the opportunity on taking her in. After this mess, we can invite people to live in our tower, though we could only take a few people in, but after we reached higher level, the more people we could employ in"
"How many could we take in anyway then?"
I asked as I crossed my arms. Lucrane then straightened herself as she responded
"After reaching level 5 in our tower, we could take 15 people in"
"That many ha"
"Though if I could make some of them a manager in our tower, the number would be lessen"
"You mean?"
"If I invited a total of 15 people inside our tower, and I made 3 of them as a manager, we could then still employ another 3 in our tower, which will make in a total of 18 people in all"
"I see"
I spoke in amazement
"But if any of them died inside the tower, or even outside, when they are still accountable as a member of the tower, the number would decrease, but you can't replace any of them"
"Eh?"
"Basically, if the 15 that I have employed got 3 of them missing, or died, the number would decrease by 3, turning to 12, but you can't invite anyone else to replace those missing number, unless you kicked them out, only during when they are still alive and breathing of course"
After that small talk, I then went back up again, and started hunting some {Foxes} above

After I ventured quite far inside the forest, just a few distance from me, I then saw a grayish black colored {Fox}, resting underneath a rock, with field of flowers surrounding it.
Not trying to wake it up, I then took a detour. Though I could hunt it, I thought to leave it be and find somebody else.

Dodging the 2 [Fire Balls] that was shot at me, as I dashed to my side while being down, I then swung to my left, after I used my right foot as I break, to slid myself as I slow down, and fired an aerial attack

And cut the 2 {Foxes} in 2

Taking a deep breath as I stood still, I then gaze at my side as I took a rough breathing. This is already my 9th hunt for the day, for at least an hour or so, making it my 48th kill today, and none of them yet drop any item I needed.
Looking around me, I then took a deep sigh before I stored the dead body of the {Fox} I hunted, and leave the site and moved forward.

3 balls of flame was then shot at me

I was suddenly meet 2 [Fire Balls] in front, shotted by a single monster upfront. Hurriedly ducking as I face down, I then leap to my right.

I then tightly hold my sword, and swung it upfront

I annoyedly clicked my tongue, as it swiftly avoided my attack, while firing another [Fire Balls] at me. Leaping to my left top side as I dodged its attack

I then griply hold my word's hilt with both of hands,

And swing my sword towards it, aiming to cut its head

But the nimble bastard was able to dodge my attack. I then swiftly turned myself to the left, while using my right foot as a brake, and stomp my left foot as I carried my sword as I turn, and swung it towards that nimble freak

And fired an aerial slash at it, before it could cast its skill

I then leap towards them as I propelled myself, using my left foot, and

I then stood up and took a breather, before I stored them each in my ring, and went back to hunting again.

"Got any luck?"
Lucrane asked as she peeled some potatoes, na place them each in a pot, outside of our camp. I then sat down in front of her and spoke
"Hunted 38 in the morning, and took down 41 in the afternoon, with 9 {Black Foxes} added in the equation, and no, I only got [Fury], a [Normal Class] skill for a whole goddamn day of hunting, yes"
I answered in tired voice as I lean my back to the chair, and closed my eyes
"How sad"
"Yeah, and so what?"
"..."
Awkwardly in silence as I sat down, while she continuedly peeled some potatoes, I then gaze up in the sky and when she suddenly spoke
"I suggest just to get the [Fury] skill than getting both the [Fire Proficiency] and [Fire Ball], as {Centropod} are equipped with hard shell and quick, nimbly feet, so firing some [Fire Balls] won't do the job"
Hearing her words, I then strengthen myself as I stared at her, with questioning gaze
"... You are saying I got the best skill, without trying to take it?"
"I suppose"
"... Wow..... what a luck I have"
I stated with a perplexed expression
Splash swhhhh
She then poured some water on the pot, and started washing those peeled potatoes
"Try to level that skill up tomorrow, that would come in handy during the siege"
"Come in handy my ass"
I then lean my back again as I complained

Standing behind, just a few distance from where the 4 {Goblins} were clamoring, I then took a steady breath, as I griply hold my sword at my right, and started activating my skills

Suddenly feeling a bit heat in my body, as my heart thumps in an unusual beat, I then bended down

And rush forward with haste, as the 4 of them faced upfront

I then dashed towards the next, before they could even notice something strange

And cut the 2nd one in half, from its bottom towards its top

As the distance between the 2nd and 3rd {Goblin} was short, it then noticed me as I cut its comrade in half, and yelled as it rushed towards me, carrying its ruined iron sword, while the 4th one was puzzled to the situation
I then dashed towards it as I hold my sword with a tight grip, and

And beheaded it as I spinned myself to my right while I swung my sword

I then stomp my left foot forward, used my right foot as an anchor, and swung my sword with both of hands

I then took a deep breath right after, as my heated self then suddenly cooled down, letting me know that [Fury] was now gone
After taking our breakfast with some fried eggs and boiled [Sweet Potatoes], and rested a bit, I then went back to the 2nd floor and started hunting again, not to aquire any skills, but rather to gather enough [Mastery Points] for my newly acquired skill, [Fury], from yesterday hunts.
In today's work, I needed to kill each enemy one by one, to accommodate enough points for my skills mastery, which is what I am doing today, which is quite a tedious task to do.
Even if the enemy has 6 to 7 members, I needed to make sure to kill them all, one by one, which is a tricky thing to do. This is also a training for me, to make sure that I won't waste too much energy killing one enemy only, especially if they are in a group, and to let me experience more ways in a battle, and how to out smart my enemy in a dire situation
Which is why I didn't choose the 1st floor in this training, as it is packed with a lot of {Gray Wolves} and {Goblins}, compared to the other floors.
After that, I then sprinted forward, and hunted another group again

Bending down as I dodged the arrow that was shot at me, I then swung my sword after I twisted myself to my left, and

Released an aerial attack at the {Goblin Archer}, while avoiding the other {Goblins} in the vicinity

After I cut it with its bow in half, 2 {Goblins} then rushed at me, holding their wooden round shield, and battered iron sword.

I then dashed to my right towards the rushing {Goblin}, and

In a blink appeared before it, and cut it into 2, with a diagonal cut from its right hip, towards its left shoulder

I then rotates myself to my right, and

Skillfully dodging the sword swing of the {Goblin} upfront, as I rotated myself to my right, and swung my sword in a diagonal swing, and cut the {Goblin} at its neck, and slash the other one behind me as I fully rotated, cutting it from its head, while

While also killing the {Goblin Archer} behind it in the process, as I shoot an aerial attack towards it, while using the dead body of the 2nd {Goblin} as a shield, from the arrow that was fired at me

And appeared before it in a blink, and swung my sword from below it towards its head, and cut it into 2

I then swiftly rotated myself towards my right, and

And rotated my sword as I twisted myself, beheading the rushing monster towards me

In hoarse tone I spoke, as I breath in a rough breathing. I then slowly walked towards the root of a tree, that made a natural curve seat, and sat down as I rested.
I been hunting down for a long time now, and only rested when I needed to, and it was quite a hectic job to do, but even if I complain about it, I can't even do anything against it
I then lean my back to the trunk of the tree, and let the breeze of the daylight wind brush on me, and closed my eyelids.

"Welcome back"

"I'm back"
After a long, tired sigh, I then respond to Lucrane's welcoming. I then sat myself on the chair outside of our camp, and lean my back to it as I let my battered body to rest
"Quite a day ha"
"Grinding was soooooo much fun, yes"
In a monotone tone, I replied in a sarcastic way
"How lovely"
"Indeeddd....."

Hearing the chopping sounds of vegetables being cut, I then ask
"... What's for lunch?"
"I'll be cooking a [Stir Fry Vegetables with Pork]
Suddenly hearing her words, I then strengthen my posture as I looked at her as she cooked

<> Stir some Wheat Flour, water, and [Fish Sauce] in a small bowl, and add them in your dish. Cook and stir until the sauce is thickened. And served it when cooked

The [Fish Sauce] we have is a good replacement for soy sauce, though the latter has more fragrance than the former, but it does bring out the flavor you wanted to get, especially if you wanted your dish to have more taste

<> Use fresh caught Fish - those small sized ones - and cut them by pieces, including its head

<> Pound the chopped pieces of the Fish using a pestel and mortar

<> Add some water, chopped Garlic, and salt, and mix them.

<> Store them inside a bottle and tightly closed it, and let it ferment for 31 days maxed.

<> After fermenting it, use a clean clothe to separate the pounded Fish, and its sauce. Do it a second time, by straining the sauce with a clean clothe, for a better and clarified sauce. And you are done, you can use it to add some flavor to your dishes

As Lucrane started frying the cut vegetables, I leaned my head to my right arm as I stared at her, deeply lost in thought
"...."
Slowly opening my mouth, I then backed down as I looked to my side, and didn't further tried.
"Something in your mind"
Hearing her words, I then looked at her and saw her continuedly stirring the vegetables

I then looked back to my side and responded
"... Nothing really, just, lost in thought, I guess"
"I see"

"If you have something in mind, don't afraid to open up, I'll gladly lend a ear"

Looking at my side, I then took a peek to my [Item Ring] in my middle finger, staring at it and sigh, as I looked back and muttered in silence

As the afternoon breeze passes through the tower's floor, Vince was resting underneath the tree's shade, as he lean his body to the fields ground, staring at a ring he found in the wilderness
"I thought you are going to hunt today?"
(Vince's POV)
Suddenly hearing a familiar voice, I then look up while still lying on the ground, and saw Iratus coming towards me. I then replied as I brought my left arm's down
"I'll postpone on hunting for today, doing too much chasing is tiresome. I already hunted yesterday for the whole day, and did the same in the morning, so I want to rest for some time"
I then hear him near me, and sat down just above my right topside
"Well, working too much isn't good for your body, so resting from time to time is helpful"
I then closed my eyes as I respond
"And today seems to be a good day, so I don't want to waste such beautiful weather"

".... So what's the deal with the ring?"
"Quite a busybody aren't we?"
"Just curious"
Silently laying down as I let the afternoon wind brush me, I then spoke as I caress the ring I hold
"I found this yesterday afternoon, before I went down, behind a tree, inside a small cave, just a distance from where that {Black Fox} were resting"
"{Black Fox}? There's already some evolved one?"
"I hunted 9 of them yesterday, counting the 1st one I saw, I meet 10 {Black Foxes} in total"
"So?"
"Well, after I accidentally stumbled to that place when I was returning, I was curious to the place that {Fox} was resting, so I explore that area for a bit, and saw a small cave in a distance. The area was quite small, just enough for me to get in, and I saw a small pouch in the corner, covered with cobwebs and dirt. The pouch was merely at a child hand size, and when I opened it..... I saw memories"
"Of whom?"
"The owner I suppose"
I then raised the ring I was holding, and continued
"The story was quite short, just a simple tale of how they fell in love with each other, but time took those moments away, leaving memories behind them, as they further distance themselves"
I then added as I closed my eyes, trying to remember those memories I saw
"She was an {Elf}, while he was a son of {Hobgoblin} and a {Succubus}, though both were different, their path lead them to each other. Day by day they meet in secret, to play and to seek what they wanted to find, and suddenly fell towards a unusual time, when both started to see each other, in a different way"
Opening my eyelids as I griply hold the ring, I then added
"But a monster born from a {Goblin} blood, could only lived for quite some time. The woman saw how time came, taking away her beloved. Cannot bare to see such end, she left, without words she vanish. As the man came back, taking with him the item he longed to have, to only meet his beloved to dissappear, and to only hear in a distant time, that she's now with somebody else embrace"
I then got up and sat as I added
"Grief and longing, hatred and helplessness, the man drown to his sorrow, and cried as he tightly holds his ring. Before he died, he left the ring inside a pouch, placed in a small cave, where once their story began"
"...."
Silence then came between the two of us
"His body?"
"Well..... He died near the cave, but his body was ravish by some monsters, taking him a bit further away from that place, and to end up as a resting place for that {Black Fox}"

".... A blessing for the others, a curse for the few"
".... Yeah"
Staring at the distance, I then raised the ring I was holding, and spoke
