(Author's POV)
"If I was the {Goblin}, and Lucrane was the {Elf}, would she stay?"
'Ahhhhhhhhh! What the fuck did I just do!?!"
Face-palming himself as he remembered the words he spoke in the afternoon, made him think how stupid he was to even think of that. He then bend his head down as he gaze above the horizon, while sitting on his chair, trying to ask himself, whether he was fool or what
"Hey, you okay?"
"Ah? A-ye-yeah I'm alright"
He spoke with a shuttered tone, as Lucrane saw him acting like a maniac, with her sharp gaze of judgements, as she prepared their meal for tonight. Her face expressed her concern, and, doubt, before she went back and started cooking back again.
Nervously answering her question, Vince then crossed her arms as he placed it atop of the chair's top rail, and rested his head as he looked at her, wondering, asking, whether the one he felt was love, or
"Merely admiration"
In a whispering and sadden tone he spoke, as he close his eyelids, and took a nap.
Love can sometimes be a mysterious force, that none of the geniuses of the world could dare to solve. It lits like a blazing torch, yet dissappear like a candle flame. Some even say that love is a raging ocean, and a wide forest, so vast yet beautiful, dangerous yet serenly stunning. And it sprouts like a weed, but prickly roses when picked
For 2 years and 5 months they been with each other, only her and him alone, something like love, could have found its way towards them, and yet
"None could even distinguish the difference between stupidity and bravery, then how could I know if what I felt, wasn't merely likeness?"
Iratus still stunned to his confession, was quiet as he observe him, before he took a deep breath. He then looked upfront and spoke, not in a hearty advice of words, but merely a frontal reality tone
"Living my years as a researcher, I don't really know much about love and the likes, neither do I even know if I have what it needed to have, and yet-"
He then looked at him and added, with refreshing tone and expression, as he smiled, remembering the past he once has
"Yet a man like me, full of dirt and bed hair, skinny like a skeleton, and zombified look, still fall to a woman that not even all my years could I dare to reach, and finally found a resting place, that I could call home"
He then stared back at the front as he added
"Love can be picky sometimes, maybe it is just because we just don't want to admit what we like, leading to a different path, yet back to the road we came. But even so, if you felt that she's the one for you, why not take the chance and fail, than regret and suffer to it?"
".... For someone who took some chance to a little girl, I didn't know you are married. Your wife should be quite shocked, seeing you, trying to hook to someone young"
Looking at him with perplexed and complicated looks, Vince couldn't help but felt sarcastic, and doubt to his tone
"Ahem! She's already an adult"
Trying not be swayed with his words, he spoke as he looked up high, trying to be resilient
"Try defend yourself in the court, you damn lolicon"
"B-be as it may, you still felt doubtful, yes?"
"Changing subjects wouldn't help you clear your crimes....."
He said as lean himself to the tree nearby, then looked at the distance, with a gaze of emotions of puzzlement
".... 2 years in this tower, with her and me alone, I couldn't help by find her, stunning, and well, liking"
"If those 2 years didn't bore any, you might have been gay, I say"
"At least I won't garner to a child, yes"

He then looked at him with disgust and shocked, emotion of unparalleled wreck, and spoke
"So you are a gay and a lolicon, not surprising"

"Try to come up with different excuses, the court might try to lessen your punishment"
Silnce then came as the windy breeze pass through them, blowing the land as the sun gaze them with its light
"Likeness and love, I don't really know the difference between them.... Do I like her because she's the only girl I saw for those past 2 years, or do I love her because she's the woman I wanted to spend my life with?"
He then lay his back to the ground, place both of his hands to his head, and added as he close his eyes
"Those 2 years of living here, didn't solve any of those questions, neither tried clearing them. If I could just have some privilege like that dating app-"
"Dating Sim"
"Dating Sim app shit, I could maybe knew what the fuck is all this about. Picking which words should I say, seeing how much points I have gather, and how to increase some love to the heroine, maybe I could say for the least, that I have know what I was doing about"
"Would that really be enough?"
"I don't know, never fall before"
As another silence came, Iratus then spoke as he stood up
"If you still felt worried and unsure, why not try and see it for yourself then?"
"You mean?"
He then walked away as he added
"I don't know, those are just words of my wife, ask her if you want"
"Are you suggesting for me to die?"
"Might be"
Vince then stood up as he sat, looking at him as he leave
".... Thanks, for everything, I suppose"
"You're welcome, maybe?"
Vince then smirk and slightly giggle, before he looked up
(Vince's POV)
"If you still felt worried and unsure, why not try and see it for yourself then?"
'How?'
In my thought I ask, as he silently took a glance at Lucrane, as she continuedly cook our meal

Sighing to a word I don't know, I could only looked up at the starry sky, and let fate do its work
"The meal should be ready any minute now, could you prepare the table now?"
"On it"
I then stood up and went inside our camp, and started preparing for our dinner

As he walked inside thier house, she then took a glance as he leave, with a worried look and unsettling emotion
"..."

(Vince's POV)
"... So, what's the deal now?"
"In what?"
"I mean, it's been a while since the 2 of us traveled together, but it is certainly out of nowhere for you to ask out"
"Was it really that surprising?"
"If you were ask out of nowhere, with no particular reason, yes"
"I see"
"..."
"....."
Awkwardly silent as we transverse the 4th floor, I couldn't help but felt something is amiss here.
After that talk with Iratus, though I wasn't that quite awkward towards Lucrane as we talk and be with each other, I wanted to at least have some breeze to cool myself a bit, and continue my hunt, or so I thought.
After eating our breakfast, which is a [Grilled Cow Beef] and some [Half Cooked Vegetables], I was about to head out towards the 2nd floor, and started hunting again, to increase my level, and also to gather a lot of [Mastery Points] for all my skills, especially [Fury] and [Terra Firma], which is something I didn't yet used for quite some time now.
I was planning on going against some {Goblins}, and let them charge at me while I use [Terra Firma], to let me see how much damage would I negate, and take, not until Lucrane propose for a survey in the 4th floor.
She asked out of nowhere, right before when I was about to go out. And now here we are, traveling across the forest, without any particular goal, nor any certain things in mind.
'This is really awkward'

The 4th floor during my time when I venture it, was merely a place where sandy soil, and greenery field comes together, creating a different vibe of nature, ans beauty, but now? Now I totally see the full aspect of this new biome, of this new floor.
The 4th floor is totally a creation of once plain, where grass and green grows, now it was cover with yellowish orange plain, of nothing but dust and sand. We believe that this floor was a vast wide forest, consisting of nothing but trees and plain, but now, maybe as time goes by, or some sort of phenomenon or disaster, this land was turned into sand, piling each other into a desert, though you can still find some greenery plain around the corner.
"Can we even place the monster we have in hand here? I can't really imagine them living here in such place"
I spoke, as I keep gazing around the area. We are transversing only those area where shades and such could be seen, as we can't really walked towards this hot tempered area.
"After reaching level 5, we will be getting 2 new summoning circle"
"2? That's a lot"
I surprisingly spoke
"Reaching level 5 is like a filling a bottled water full, and taking those price water as our reward. But after that, we will be filling a bucket now"
"I see. So what monster do you think will be given then next?"
"I believe it will be some sort of Worm type monster, a {Sand Worm}, and some {Giant Scorpion}"
"How big are those {Giant Worms}? And how about those {Giant Scorpion}?"
I curiously ask, as we then scrunch down to a bended tree, and took a right turn to a giant boulder.
"{Sand Worms} are nocturnal type monster, they only hunt during the night, and slept in the morning. They are at 10 to 12 meters long, but they only let a bit of 6 meters of their body out of the sand. They have hundredths of sharp teeth, equip in each of those spiral mouth of theirs. Though their body is quite vulnerable for sharp object, arrows can't penetrate them. They are fast one and good at ambushes, so always be careful when transversing the night in a desert. But it is advisable not to"
"How come arrows are useless against them?"
"Their body are furnish with magic or something the likes, that shield them against penetration, may it arrows or spears, but those who have strength that would wreck a boulder with just their fist, could easily penetrate this monsters. With that thing in hand, only [Mage] and [Warriors] could dare to face them, which is an advantage for this monster. Long and flexible body, ground which is their home, and quick escape and ambushes, this monster are quite a threat for most adventurers"
"Any tips on how to deal with them?"
"Just a few. If you see the sand moves directly towards you, especially in haste, let your [Mage] cast some good dealing magic while your [Warrior], or any tank class, be place upfront to confront that monster, and your damage dealer should be just a few distance from the front, standing at each side, and not the center"
"Why?"
I puzzlingly ask
"Any monsters that dig underground, when they move up, they usually create an explosive entrance, so your warrior should be upfront to shield anyone at the back, also for easy taunting for the monster. Your damage dealer should be lying next to the front, so they could easily go in when the [Warrior] upfront was successful to its [Taunt]. They shouldn't be staying beside the front, so when those monsters come out, any unexpected outcome won't befall to them"
"Like falling debris and the likes?"
She then nodded
"It is also for a reason that when they stay beside the [Warrior], or any tank class of theirs, they might slip, stunned, or hit, causing them for some delay before they could attack, or hinder them motionless in the process. The [Mage] or [Ranger] should be at some distance from their damage dealer, so that if something might happens to them, some of their teammates could assist them when needed, though they might be divided from the front and back, but they won't be act like a trapped Rabbit"
'That's some new information not going to lie'
"How about those {Giant Scorpions} then?"
She then added as we took left turn, passing through a small sand hill
"{Giant Scorpions} have a strong carapace compared to the {Sand Worms}, and long pincer arms that could snap a 2 boulders like butter. Their carapace is embed with physical and magic resistance, so only blunt type weapons, and fist could deal some considerable damage to them, staff and the likes could also be added. They have long, sharp stinger, that is equip with strong poison, enough for a whole den of {Goblins} to be destroyed"

"They have [Night Vision] in those eyes of theirs, good for hunting during the night. Like {Sand Worms}, they usually ambush their enemy by digging below the sand, so always be extra careful when venturing, as this monster hunts during the day"
"{Sand Worms} are problem at the night, now we have {Giant Scorpions} in the day, what a nice one"
"Don't forget they are fast one, so running away from them is inevitable, except if you are equip with some speed boosting ability, and items"

We then pass by a 2 tall, grown trees, sprouting in one root, and making a curve grow. The other one was leaning to the left, and making a U shape, before carving up, while the other was sprouting upward, in a diagonal manner.
After passing it, we then saw a
"What's that?"
"That's an Oasis, one of a rarely found place in the desert, where both water and small greenery of land can be found. A small thriving place in this hot area"
The Oasis she was talking about were just a few distance from where we are, at my right, centered in the sandy soil. I can't tell how huge or wide the area was, as I can only see it as a small plot of land. Though it was quite far, I can see some threes growing around it, with some grass and bushes thriving.

After we walked quite a bit, we then stumble to an old statue, ruined and destroyed, with only half to what it was in the past. The statue was carved with a reference of a man, with a crown, or with a look of such, on its head.
Half of its face was gone, leaving only the left ear and eye to be seen. Its was making a hint of smile, with a close eye. The size of the statue was twice of my height, with an area thrice of length.
"Some sort of tribe? Or old civilization?"
"Might be"
Curious as we are, as to find what story does this statue holds, but we just walked pass it, and leave it to some other time.

"Forgot to ask this, but what level does the {Sand Worm} and {Giant Scorpion} have?"
I ask as we venture a small forest
"{Sand Worm} should be at least level 40 when it summoned, with level 55 alpha. The [Sand Worm Summoning Circle] will summon at least 10 {Sand Worms}"
"How many female and male would it produce?"
"Contrary to Worms that have variations of gender, {Sand Worms} don't have any sexes, as they multiple by either getting cut, or in an asexual reproduction"
"So they basically just clone themselves, by creating a new one with some cut parts of their body?"
"I'm glad you can catch up so fast now"
"You can praise me more, if you want"
With a smug and smirk I spoke
"The {Giant Scorpion} are summoned with a level 60 alpha, followed by some other level 50 {Giant Scorpions}, each are divided with 2 females and 2 males"
"Just 4?"
I curiously, and puzzlinly ask
"*{Giant Scorpions}, or Scorpions, give birth to 40 or 50 younglings for 90 days of carriage. Though they could give birth that much, only 30 or so could reach adulthood, as when they are grown enough, they will then leave their mother behind, and live on there own. But as we are in the tower, those won't happen, yet"
She then added as we then took a turn to the left and turn to our right, then climb up a small hill length sand dome, and pass by 2 smaller ones.
"Those younglings upon hatch, will climb up to their mother's back, and took a shelter there until they grow. It will take another year for the mother to give birth yet again, before the time will catch up to her"
She then added as we further distance ourselves from those domes
"Though it is weird, but some of those younglings will stay with their mother until death"
"... And how is that weird?"
I puzzledly ask
"Monsters and the likes, tend to leave there nest when they grow, so they will be independent to their parents, and also some because they fear what will happen if they don't"
"You mean?"
"Some parents, when they see their child grow, tend to forget they are their own children, their own blood, and eat them for food, and vice versa"
"... Wow"
Stunned to her words, I was quite, perplexed to the information thrown at me, which made me then curious about
"So why does those young {Giant Scorpions} stay then?"
"In thier laws and such, this kind of thing is normal for them, some of us even practice it"
When then took a left turn and continued walking straight, and entered another small forest as she added
"Inbreeding, where one could mate to their close relatives, and even their own family"

"Incest?"
"It's where a father and a daughter, or a mother and a son have sex with each other, or even get married, or something"
'Though I mostly heard and seen them in porns, and doujins'
"Does it often happen to your world?"
"Maybe back at the old times yes, dunno for my time though, never heard or seen one, so can't say for sure"
I respond. Though I heard rumors and some gossip about some politicians going for their own relatives, or some celebrities going for their own children, and even divorcing their own partner for such, I couldn't say for sure that those information are reliable
"How about here then? Do they do such act?"
"Royalties and other nobles do such act, to maintain their bloodline pure, or so they say, even some other race doesn't protest to such action"

"Well back to the topic in hand, the sole reason why those younglings decided to stay, is because they fell for their mother's charm, so they are staying with her until the breeding season"
'As a mother, if I were her, I can't really say I like that kind of parenting'
I thought with quite of unlikeness, as I gaze at the place we are venturing
"Other reason was because, they wanted to surpass her. So when those young ones reach adulthood, they will then challenge their mother, and eat her after she's defeated"
"Talk about being stabbed by your own blood in the back"
"Though it is a rare cases, some younglings are given birth with inferior complex against their parents, so to get rid of those, they only needed to kill them in a duel"
We then walk pass a chop down tree, with a giant boulder pressing it down
"Maybe I should be glad I was born as a Human"

(Author's POV)
She replied in a heavy, yet quite meek voice, as they continuedly transverse the forest
"?"
Perplexed to her words, that seems to be unusual than before, Vince just silently followed her as they cross the deep forest
.....
(Vince's POV)
"..... Hey"
"Hmmm?"
"Been wanting to ask this but, where are we heading anyway?"
"..."
I ask, as it's been quite some time, maybe an hour or 2, maybe even almost 3 by now, yet we still keep walking and walking, not even resting even a bit, as we just keep moving straight ahead, without any destination to head
Though I could walk for 3 hours or so without resting, but
"You never told me where we are heading to begin with, we are just basically walking"
I then looked up and added
"It is almost lunch too"
I then looked back at her, and stopped as I ask
"So, where are we even going Lucrane?"
"....."
She then halted as I ask that
"Hey"
She then turn her head to the side and replied
"Just a few more blocks from here, we are almost there"
And spoke in a silent tone once again, something I find amiss to her words.
She then press on and continue walking
Sigh
Sighing as I watch her, I then followed her from behind as we continue our journey, or whatever this is

Looking at her with a frown as I followed her, without any words to be spoke as we walked, made me felt something amiss to this situation.
Watching her closely as she strive, I then sigh and stop to my track. I then looked above me, and saw the sun was at its highest peak, sitting as it let its ray sail to the whole floor.
I then looked back at her with a questioning gaze, before I scratch my head and spoke
"Hey, are we really going somewhere?"
"...."
"It is been a few hours now, and yet, none of this 'few more blocks' could be seen anywhere"
"..."
Getting quite annoyed to her silence as she continued walking, I then added with a hint of irritation
"I don't know where is this place you are going to, but I am heading back now. I just wasted quite some time here, though I did enjoy the walk, and the view of this place was stunningly amazing, but I could have done something, especially during this crisis we are facing"
'My legs are also screaming for rest'
"...."
Frowning as I watch her, I then scratch the top of my head and stated in annoyance
"Do whatever you want, I don't really much ca-"
"Forgive me"
"?"
Hearing her respond I then looked at her, and saw her stopping her track, just a distance away from me
"You see, I... "
"..... I what?"
She then turn around and wore this complicated look, as she stare at me. Surprised to her sudden change of character, I just quietly waited until she spoke
".... I... Hey"
"Yeah?"
When she was about to say something, she then stop and close her mouth, as if her words were stuck to her throat
"I..... It's nothing, let just go back"
She said as she walk towards me down casting her gaze as she strive. Totally in mist to the situation, I then ask her as she pass me
"What? What is it? Something happened?"
"It's nothing, just forget it"
She spoke in a stoic, cold voice, as she slowly distance herself, away from me. Seeing her further distancing herself, I couldn't help but felt annoyed and quite perplexed
"5 hours or so of walking, and she didn't even say anything..... *sigh* women"
And followed her right after I complained
"What should we eat?"
I yelled
"I'll just cook some [Fried Egg and Baked Potatoes]"
She replied in scream, as she further fasten her strive, and completely distance herself from me

As the {Aurochs} paw its hooves on the ground, shailking its head as it stared at me

It then dash towards me

Taking a deep breath as I stood my ground, I then place my left foot forward, while using my right foot as a pillar, ans press both of them hard on the ground, and bended myself in slight curve, and
"[Terra Firma]"
And casted one of this monster's skill

As the monster continuesly dash at me, I keep my body strengthen as I press my feet hard on the ground, and made a guard move by pressing my left arm near my chest, and point my left shoulder front, and harden myself before impact

Upon the collision between the 2 of us, the {Aurochs} was pushed back as it slightly raised its body up, and stomp its front hooves on the ground, while I was drive a bit of a distance from where I was, but my posture wasn't broken, though I felt a quite sting to my body after the collision

"Damn that hurts"
I said as I caress my stinging shoulder.
Snort Snort
Grrowwwwlll!
The monster then took its stand back as it roared, and turned around and face me. It then pawed its hooves on the ground, shook its head, and glared at me in anger
"Oh Mr. Bull is piss"
I jokingly stated. I then this time didn't took my stance, as I just strengthen myself as I waited for it to rush
Groooowwwwll!
It then roared once again before it rush at me.
Stomp Stomp Stomp Stomp Stomp
Stomping its hooves on the ground as it strive, dashing at me without any regards to anything, or anyone, I then patiently waited for it.
Foouu~
Taking a deep breath as I waited until it reach a certain distance, I keep myself calm and prepared
"[Quick Reflexes]"

I then swiftly took my stance as I made my guard move, and pointed my shoulder upfront, while I then bended myself a bit, and collided with the rushing beast, as it reach a few a centimeter away from me
"[Terra Firma]!"
And timingly casted my skill before impact

"Ughhh!"

"houuuu shit, that sting"
I spoke, as I keep swaying my pained left shoulder after the collision, and saw the {Aurochs} knocked down just a few distance away from me, laying on the ground with its jaw wide open, and daze look on its face.
"Well that's one then"
I said with a pained smile
After whatever happened in the 4th floor, during the morning, we then climb down and took our lunch, which was quite awkward for both of us, as Lucrane was quite distance during meal, and I was silent during it. There were no eye contact, just a simple silent meal
She then left 1st without any words afterwards, which was troubling for me, so I decided to rather take the whole afternoon, hunting and leveling my [Terra Firma] skill.
I decided to use the 2nd floor as my training ground, as it won't be that much crowded like the 1st floor, and choose either the {Boars} or {Aurochs} as my training partner.
During the walk in the 2nd floor, I was thinking on how to effectively use [Terra Firma] in any given battle, especially when I am cornered. Rather than standing and holding my ground against my enemy, after I casted [Terra Firma], I can't expect some other monster to just blindly attack me, as some could even thoroughly think any way to deal with it. And some could even easily bypass this skill, especially as it wasn't that solid yet, so I went and thought, and came up with 3 ways only:
1. Use as it to receive the attack.
<> This is very simple one, as I just to need to stand and hold my ground, as I WHOLEHEARTEDLY accept the incoming attack of my enemy
2. Ram it against your enemy
<> I took inspiration to the Goats and Rams back in my world, also here, where they head butt each other out. So I am thinking of knocking my enemies with [Terra Firma], by ramming it against them, during collision
3. Combine the 1st and 2nd one
<> Like how you use shield in the battle, and parry or block any range attack, even melee one, during escape, combat, or surprise attack.
So with this listed down, I then look for any {Boars} or {Aurochs} in the vicinity, even some Goats or other Cow like monster should be enough, as I am trying if my 1st and 2nd one could be use in a battle.
After I found my training partner, and made sure that it was also, and quite far to any other monster or beast in the area, and I then started my training.
So after knowing how 1st and 2nd one did, during that bout with the {Aurochs}, I then knew that the 1st one deals less damage against charging enemy, and the pain I am taking is quite huge, compared to the 1st one, which deal more, and pain less.
After caressing my left shoulder, I then went deep into the forest, and try to see if I could use [Terra Firma] like a shield, against some {Goblin Archer}.
Then after that, I will train each of the 3, and at least master them before the 2 weeks deadline comes to an end.

After walking quite deeper in the woods, I then found 5 {Goblins} just a distance from me, transversing the forest with 3 ones holding a club, while 2 were carrying a shield and sword.
I then observe above them, to see if I could spot some {Goblin Archers}, but for quite a while, I didn't saw any sign of it, so I then sigh and summoned my sword, and followed them from behind.

"[Holy Brilliance]"
"[Fury]"
Silently following them, I then casted all my skills in hand, and

And propelled myself towards them. As I arrived at the back of the last {Goblin} of the group, I then

Swung my sword with a diagonal swing, and cut the {Goblin} from its right waist, towards its left shoulder. Without wasting any time, I then

Dash towards the 4th one, and swung my sword from below, and slash the {Goblin} into 2. After I have silently killed the other 2,and before the other 3 could notice what was going on, I then targeted the 3rd one on the left and

Slash the 3rd one with 3 consecutive cuts, aiming at its head, body, and legs, chopping the monster in a brutal sense.
Kraaa?
As the 2nd one looked at my direction, it then saw how I chopped its mate into piece. Stunned and dazed to the situation, it then realized what is going on
"[Gale Strike]"

And fired an aerial slash towards it, before it could even yell and alarm its other friend, and cut it in half. I then dash towards the last remaining one, and

And spinned my sword and beheaded the last, oblivious one in the group.

After I have successfully went behind them, I then slowly close the distance between me and them, making gap a bit closer.

*Scorpions could give birth to at least 20 to 100 nymphs, though some species could only give birth to 20 or less. But in this novel, I will only use 40 to 50 younglings, as 100 is really too much. Depending also on the species, some scorpions, like mantis, do sexual cannibalism where they eat their mate after mating, or during mating.
Scorpions takes 90 days to a year, to carry their babies before they give birth.
