Hendrix Arrives in Okria

Hendrix POV

After a day in the Crown World, Hendrix felt his soul floating above an expanse of land.

[Your body is finished reconstructing. Where would you like it placed in a mile radius of where you died?]

'Right next to the Stygian Tyrtakia's carcass, please. I'm going to test something.' Hendrix thought while staring at the corpse from above.

[Acknowledged. Transfer commencing]

[3...2...]

Hendrix felt his soul pulled back into a new body that appeared next to the dead Stygian Tyrtakia varmints carcass.

[Transfer completed]

Hendrix opened his eyes and saw a moon was out. However, no stars shone. The night sky was an empty void aside from the moon. Additionally, a few clouds were floating in the firmament.

Subsequently, Hendrix touched the corpse and willed another biomass piece inside.

[You can only will one biomass per individual creature's species.]

'Well, it was worth a try.' Hendrix thought before he grabbed a branch, lit it on fire, and continued to walk along the trail. His eyes squinted in the darkness as he surveyed his surroundings.

As Hendrix followed the path, he remained alert and ready to fight back at the slightest noise.

{Hendrix, how are you planning to hide your identity from your classmates? If they realize you live, then they may become more suspicious of your abilities.}

'I can't hide it from them. So I'll have to leave the area and avoid all interactions with them.' Hendrix thought while sighing and continuing to walk across the path.

{Hendrix, once you enter the city, your other abilities will become available. Are you planning to try them out when you find a place alone?}

'Yes, I will never let anyone other than you or Sativa see my true self.' Hendrix thought while continuing to walk.

{Okay, Hendrix. I wish you luck}

'Thanks, Ackalon.'

Hendrix spent two days traveling to the Okrian portal location, during which he avoided all varmints, and once he arrived, the violet portal opened.

'This is it.' Hendrix thought before he walked through the portal.

[You have completed the Emergency Common Quest. Safety at Last? Or is it too late?]

[You have completed all three quest requirements]

[You have acquired a Crimson Ranked Mystery Sarcophagus ×1]

[You can request it to appear before you when you choose. However, you can't store it.]

[Congratulations on making it to Okria. You can now level up In the subplanes of the Crown World after you take the academy examination. Please head to the places provided and rest. You've earned it]

[All locked skills and abilities are now unlocked]

Subsequently, Hendrix looked around at his surroundings. There were many stone streets, all heading in different directions, while three-story tall stone and wood rustic buildings lined them. Additionally, no sun shone, and a white moon's dim rays illuminated the landscape.

A symbol-covered but long trapezoidal floating stone came up one of the winding streets and stopped near a large crowd. Afterward, many rectangular holes opened on both sides, with a see-through covering blocking entry.

And long stone ladders came out between each vertical row of holes, making it possible to climb up them and enter the openings. Within these holes were basic beds of linen-looking fabric and pillows around the sides. Additionally, a small space was on the side of each large hole.

'What the?! Is that a vehicle in the crown world?' Hendrix thought while his eyes widened.

The group of people all congregated around the vehicle and began climbing the stone ladders in an orderly manner. Afterward, each one pulled out a group of coins and inserted them into the openings by the large ones. After a minute, each large opening's see-through covering lifted, allowing entry.

Each person climbed into their respective holes and made themselves comfortable on the beds inside. Consequently, after the people entered, the covering blocked their exits, and a stone part returned.

Subsequently, the stone ladders merged back into the large stone vehicle, and its symbols glowed a dim green hue before floating away at a moderate speed, leaving no pollution or trace in its wake.

'I wonder what powers those vehicles. Is it magic that does it? Or some other energy form?' Hendrix thought before realizing he had lost himself watching that vehicle and sighed.

{It's alright, Hendrix. You've never seen that kind of vehicle before. However, I think it's time to find an inn or the equivalent.}

'I agree. I need a private space to check my things.' Hendrix thought while he rested on his cane.

Subsequently, Hendrix began to wander around the area. However, after five minutes, he was stopped by a group of guards. They all wore red armor with two upside-down crescent symbols upon them, and they had shields on their backs and two swords in scabbards on their belts.

"Hey kid, where are your parents?" The first guard asked, not taking a good look at Hendrix.

"I'm not a kid, but a teenager. If my word isn't enough, ask me questions to check my intelligence." Hendrix remarked, believing it was impossible for the guards not to suspect him being a runaway child despite having a mustache.

"Alright then, tell me, what's five hundred times fifteen?" The second guard asked while smirking.

"Seven thousand five hundred." Hendrix civilly answered while leaning on his cane more.

"I'm impressed. You have the knowledge level of a teenager but are still a child. Follow us to the barracks. We will find out who your parents are. If you are an orphan, we will send you to an orphanage." The second guard replied while smirking.

"Don't you see the small white mustache I have?" Hendrix asked while pointing to it.

"Oh my bad, it seems you're right. Still, please come with us. You can stay in the barracks for the time being until Palmerth Academy opens its doors to new applicants." The second guard apologized while sighing.

"Will I get my own room?" Hendrix asked.

"Yes, you will. However, don't tell our captain we're sheltering you. It's against the rules, but you seem to have no money or belongings. And we pity you." The third guard replied with a chuckle.

"Alright, I'll go with you all." Hendrix replied while he started walking towards the guards with his cane.

The guards led Hendrix on an hour-long walk until they arrived at a sizeable fifteen-story marble building dotted with windows.

"This is the barracks, um. What should we call you?" The second guard asked.

"I'm Hendrix, and your name?" Hendrix civilly asked.

"I'm Dominus." Dominus replied

"I'm Julius." Julius introduced

"I'm Patrick." Patrick greeted.

"Nice to meet you all." Hendrix civilly replied with a neutral expression.

"Likewise." The three guards stated before entering the establishment.

Afterward, Hendrix followed them inside, and they brought him through many of the winding halls before stopping in front of a door and opening it.

"This will be your room, Hendrix." Julius stated.

"Thank you all." Hendrix replied civilly.

"Your welcome, now just stay here. We will make sure the captain doesn't see you. If she does, she'll kick you out." Julius responded.

"One of us will bring you a meal in the morning, noon, and evening. All you need to do is stay in here, out of sight. And when you need to head to the academy, we'll escort you there." Dominus stated

"Are there any economics books?" Hendrix questioned

"Oh, there are. We'll bring you some books so you won't be bored." Patrick stated.

"Thank you." Hendrix replied before sighing.

The guards nodded, and after Hendrix entered the room, they closed the door and left. Hendrix looked around the room and saw a large king-sized bed with a mattress.

As he surveyed his surroundings, he saw a large dresser, three large windows, a closet, and an oil lamp.

Afterward, Hendrix walked to the bed, put his cane beside it, climbed in, and pulled the covers over himself before sleeping.

Meanwhile, back at the destroyed portal area, a different group of guards arrived.

"Is there anyone else who Oculus has sent?" The first guard asked.

"I'm not sure. However, we'll see them if they come." The second guard replied.
