This isn't the life I wanted for you

It was a usual Friday morning in Tokyo's police department when everyone was carrying out their responsible tasks. The white-painted corridors were never empty or silent as more people came in and out of the building, whispering to each other in hushed voices.

A middle-aged woman entered the station's reception, her dark brown hair in a short ponytail and her steely, light brown eyes surveying another two women. A pair of glasses covered most of her dark circles, which had formed from working for almost two days straight without proper rest.

"I know, he was such an attractive man!" a secretary gushed to her co-worker.

The two women dressed in clean uniforms were ready to start their shift that morning. They had gathered to read the news, which confirmed the tragedy from a couple of days ago - the famous CEO and infamous womanizer, Toshiro Takuya, had been murdered in his own mansion.
