Chapter 41. The storm serpent.

The moment he spotted the egg, it was as if Murphy's Law had come to life - anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. The egg began to crackle unexpectedly.

There were roughly four or five such eggs present, and all of them embarked on a chorus of crackling almost simultaneously.

The sound echoed throughout the cavernous space, reverberating loudly enough to fill the entire cave.

Suddenly, one of the eggs burst open, and a small black snake emerged from within.

Upon witnessing this, Alex's first natural reaction was to bolt from the cave as fast as possible.

Seeing the black snake hatching from the egg, he quickly pieced together the situation.

The realization dawned on him that these were the newly laid eggs of the storm serpent.

As he pivoted to sprint out of the cave, something he had mistaken for an innocuous rock stirred in the shadows.
