As soon as Alex's words echoed around the vicinity, a cascade of laughter erupted from the spectators, their faces twisted with scorn and distaste.

Zhong Jie, hearing the commotion himself, was also caught in the infectious laughter, joining the crowd in their mirth.

After the laughter subsided, Zhong Jie turned to Alex, wearing a teasing smile. "What's the matter? Starting to have second thoughts, are you?" He puffed out his chest in unabashed arrogance and continued, "I'm known for my generosity, you know. I might just extend my mercy and forgive your audacity. Alex, however, responded with a wild, hearty laugh, sending a wave of astonishment through the crowd.
