His miserable existence continued until one fateful night when he met his demise due to unforeseen circumstances.

Upon hearing Elder Liang's words, Alex was filled with surprise. Could it be that Elder Liang was implying that he, Alex, was headed towards his demise?

"Do you still have the dagger with you?" He asked, his gaze scrutinizing Alex with curiosity.

Alex nodded, his expression still reflecting his bewilderment. The implications of Elder Liang's words were not lost on him.

Though the dagger had seemingly brought nothing but worsening fortunes, he had not experienced any life-threatening incidents since his mission with Wu Lina and the others.

His luck had been rather normal. If it weren't for the corrupting energy he received each time he used the dagger to kill, he might have even forgotten about its strange powers.

Elder Liang, after hearing Alex's confirmation, fell into deep contemplation, chin resting in his hand.
