Level Up

The idea of the tournament brought joy to Kai; he was just looking for a quick way to level up. Just by thinking of it his body started to radiate heat.

Those around step away from him not wanting to sweat. Kirk was on the opposite side of the room from Kai while looking at him shivers ran down his spine.

Others were also excited by the idea and the Lt could see this.

"Now, this could get out of control so Dr.Young, and nurse Judith, will be supervising the event just in case" next to him was a man with a white lab coat, with bags under his brown eyes that match a wild short brown hair.

He looked like he didn't sleep much yet he had a warm smile on his face, looking at him gav e you the feeling that everything would be fine.

The woman next to Dr. Young was the complete opposite of him, blonde hair and blue eyes, a perfect face without a single shade of imperfection on it and she had a serious expression on her face. The face of entitlement was the only description fitting her face.

Looking at him a message appeared in front of Kai.

"Now the rules are simple: the winner will be the one that either incapacitates its opponents or makes them yield. Killing is not allow and neither is magic"

Some made a face of displeasure to this, why couldn't they? But the reason for these was simple: to make them stronger.

"Now let's make the bracket a machine was brought forward pressing a few buttons the machine started to generate the names of the brackets.

There were two brackets that connected at the bottom. Kai was in section A and was going up against a boy named Derek.

Kirk saw the brackets and sigh of relief since he was in the B section away from Kai.

"Now that we have an order two fights will take place at the same time one of section A and another of section B. So first on the list Anna, Lee from section A and Gabriel and Tyron from section B"

Lee was a 19 year first year student that was known to be really honorable. He was about 5 '7 but still had a muscular body. His black hair was gelled to the right and had rectangle glasses.

On the other corner was Anna, a pink haired girl who was on the slim athletic side. Her eyes were blue and she looked like a shy girl.

"Get ready… begin"

A light surrounded the right hand of Lee and a rapier appeared. The handle design was that of a dragon and was gold in color.

"Behold the weapon that I'll use in this honorable duel. Please summon thy weapon so we can have a fair match" Lee said with pride and honor.

The cringe was so much that Anna had a weird expression.

"What kind of bullshit are you talking about?"

Anna said as she summoned her weapon and dashed towards a type of rope was launched towards Lee's rapier and managed to tight it. Her weapon was a whip she pulled the rapier away and it caught Lee by surprise; he was now disarmed.

"Haha good job now let me get my weapon for a fair duel" Lee said, turning his back to get his weapon but his hand was caught by her whip.

She pulled his arm and kicked his stomach knocking he's wind out there she tight the whip around his neck and pulled until Lee was knocked out.

"That's enough Anna and Gabriel pass to the next round" Lt said

"Argh I didn't pay attention to the other match" Kai said not gathering info on a potential opponent was a big deal.

"Now on section A Kai vs Fred and for Section B Arthur vs Daniel" Copper said

Kai entered the designated area the system's reacted

"System Upgrade?" Kai questioned.

"Okay, both sections are ready… BEGIN" the Lt said.

Fred was a tall but skinny boy that seemed to be around 20 years old.

Fred quickly summoned his weapon; which was a bronze halberd. He quickly rushed Kai, attempting to end the fight quickly, he swung his weapon diagonal but Kai stepped back avoiding it without difficulty.

Kai then right kicked the guy on his ribs which made him skimmed left. The kick was heavy and clearly hurt him a lot.

"What's up with that strength, he's not even using a weapon" Fred said. This event changed freds strategy. He was being careful now that he knew the power behind the punches.

"If his legs are strong then close combat might be best for me since his legs will have less space" Fred said think he discovered a good strategy.

He dashed and closed the distance between them but just as he was going to execute his plan, received a powerful right hook to the face.

He felt dizzy and his vision was blurry. Kai was still in front of him with his arms up. He tried one last time to attack Kai but missed and Kai delivered a straight punch knocking him out.

"He was more resilient than I thought" Kai was really impressed by the guy's performance. He looked towards the B section and the fight was over before he's. Arthur was declared winner by knockout.

Kai looked at Arthur trying to determine if he was strong or was his opponent just too weak. He decided to do something he hadn't done before.

He looked around and made sure people weren't looking. He tried to imagine the mythic inside his body going towards his eyes. This activated a skill he already had.

[Mythic Eyes] Upgrade! Thanks to the user enhancing the skill with more Mythic he can now see people's auras.

His eyes glowed crimson red and he no saw a silver like aura around Arthur. He turned off the skill and was surprised by this achievement.

"These eyes are awesome" he paused after thinking about what he said in his head.

"Maybe Akashi was meant to have this skill. He also bragged about how he could see more about people" it was a sad thought about one of his dearest friends he had to kill.

The matches went by and both Arthur and Kai won every single one. The sun was starting to set, the student could see the sky changing shades of color from a nice smooth baby blue to a red and orange mix of colors.

Tom was a big bully guy who looked to be in his 20s. If you saw this kind of person with that age you would think he's on steroids.

"What the hell is that thing?"Kai asked, seeing the absolute abomination Tom was. But his fears were worse when the XP reward was updated for this battle.
