Zala did not want her friend to suffer due to her being weak and could not protect her. Now that Varshir's life is in Jackson 's hands , Zala was very worried for her. Zala owes Varshir a lot because of their past and sees Varshir as her very best friend.

Zala swore to herself that she would serve Varshir as her loyal shadow as well as her best friend. Zala wanted the best for her friend who lost a lot for her and with that Zala mentally prepared to sell herself to Jackson.
