Chiqui sat down on his bed as he pointed to the place next to him letting me sit beside him

" You better tell me now because I will have to go to sleep soon "

" Well... I don't from where should I start "

I caught before talking, I am nervous about it, I know Chiqui will not be okay with being a mafia's bodyguard

" Miguel Gracìa? the one who bought our house? "

The fact that Chiqui still think about that man makes me feel nervous even more

Chiqui laughed as he punched my shoulder gently, I smiled at him and continued talking

" He is a what?? are you for real, you can't be involved in mafia shit "

" He will let us live in his house, and will make you join the best high school in Spain, he said he is going to provide a better life for you and me too, he promised to protect you "

Chiqui stood up from his place angrily not accepting what I am saying

" Bullshit! He promised to protect me but didn't promise to protect you! Is he really going to provide a better life for you by making you face mafia greed? "

" Chiqui nothing bad will happen just... "

" There is no just! you can't work for him "

The tears gathered in my eyes, if I didn't work for Miguel he is going to destroy us...

" Please don't make it hard for me Chiqui, I want this work "

" You want it or he forced you? "

" He didn't force me he just offered it "

" Okay... but you said he is a mafia, you will... obviously get hurt, and I am not ready to lose you... I only have you by my side, you can't just put yourself in danger and risk your life like that... if your life is not important to you... well it is important for me "

Chiqui said as he looked at the other side trying to avoid looking at me, he was tearing, how can I ignore this now?

What Chiqui is saying is totally right I can't deny, but do I have another choice? Miguel literally warned me, he is threatening me! he is going to kill my brother if I didn't accept being his bodyguard

I don't have any other choices, life sucks, and my situation sucks even more, I don't know how am I going to deal with this, life goes hard on me...

I stood up as I hugged Chiqui's little body compared to mine, he hugged me back as he kept crying silently, I can feel his tears on my chest

I kissed his head and let my nose play with his hair gently, I love my brother and I can't handle his crying

" Everything will be alright "

I said in a low voice, I can hear his whispers... begging me to not work for that man, this is breaking my heart, breaking every inch of it

" You have to go to sleep Chiqui "

He let me go as he nodded with his head looking at the floor as if he lost hope, I held his face with my hands gently, and asked him smiling

" You want me to sleep beside you? "

" Well... if you are free "

I smiled at him as I took of my jacket and sneakers then I layed on his bed waiting for him to complete arranging his clothes

" Done! "

Chiqui said in an excited tone as he jumped on the bed and layed next to me.

I covered our bodies with the blanket and started playing with his hair trying to make him forget about what we were talking about, Miguel's bullshit...

" Cali... "

" Yes? "

" Can you sing for me? "

I smiled as I nodded with my head, even though I feel like it is embarrassing but that is literally the simplest thing I can do for Chiqui, I should not refuse

" Now hush, little baby, don't you cry

Everything's will be alright

Chiqui, I know you miss your mom, and I know you miss your dad

Our parents left us at a very young age... My little Chiqui... I promised to be his parents, I will do my best to be a good brother and father and friend

I could feel his breaths getting heavy with the time... he slept, good night little kid, tomorrow will be the day...
