Trapping the Pig

The Ring of Invisibility hid Baron Illus from everyone's naked sight. He held a Teleportation Scroll in his hand as he made his way to the Luxem Manor, making sure to keep his presence unnoticed.

‘All of these people here… Tch. They’re getting in my way,’ Baron Illus thought internally, keeping his mouth shut. The artifact hid him from the eyes, but not from the ears.

The entrance to the Luxem Manor was blocked by the village's residents, who were watching the battle taking place on the hill.

‘If I had the power… I would have hired Mages to blast this entire village down,’ Baron Illus thought with annoyance.

A Baron was still a Baron no matter how many villages he had and no matter how much money he received annually.

It wasn’t like any respectable Adventurers Guild or Mage Guild would easily agree to burn down an entire village, so the price of doing such a terrible thing could only be afforded mostly by those who were incredibly wealthy and ranked above him.
