Chapter 11: Wander to new adventures

I awoke from my dazing sleep. As I awoke I felt something next to me awake. I was scared at first and hissed at the moving thing in the little self-made tent, but I remembered that it was Thalia. Luckily she hadn't heard or seen what I did or our newly built relationship would be soon over.

As she crawled out of the little tent she yawned and stretched herself. Then she looked around and she saw me and wondered why she even trusted the snake to sleep next to her. But what yesterday happened just formed a kind of bond between them and she

felt like the snake was feeling the same way.

After they looked at each other Thalia said: "We should look for something to eat for breakfast". I nodded and showed that I agreed.

As we searched for something to hunt I thought about why I stayed with Thalia. First of all, I want to know more about this world and what is different about it when you compare it to my old world. At the moment it seemed like a fantasy world. I also kind of like her so I decided to stick with her for a while.

After a while of searching, we found a deer that was standing between trees and was having a snack. I was shocked when I found out it had sharp teeth and a rather white fur with red eyes. Thalia whispered: "A devil deer".

I looked at her with questioning eyes. She saw it and explained: "A devil deer is a normal deer just stronger faster and with better hearing and smelling. They are just better overall".

I nodded to show her that I understood. She then told me her plan. She wanted to use me to scare the devil deer so it would run in another direction where Thalia would wait and use one of the goblin spears she picked up from the camp one day ago, to pierce the devil deer. We agreed on the plan and got to our positions.

It started. I got the signal from Thalia and jumped out of the dense forest and an intimidating hiss came out of my mouth which I didn't even know I could do.

System:

I almost jumped in excitement but then I remembered I was in a fight. I came back to reality and saw how the devil deer ran towards Thalia's position. She awaited him in a bush and waited for the right moment to strike. The moment came she jumped out of her cover and stabbed the devil deer directly in his heart. But it still seemed to attack her so I quickly came to help after the devil deer kicked Thalia against a tree. I got to his neck and bit into his carotid artery to end his life.

Finally, the deer fell over and died.

I quickly looked after Thalia. She had a bad bruise on her belly so we laid down at the place and with my help she was able to lean her back at a tree.

After that I pulled the devil deer to her she asked me to get some wood. After I got back and piled up the wood she got a fire stone out of her leather clothing and made a fire. After that, she grabbed the goblin Speer out of the body of the devil deer and slowly cut off his fur. After she was done she dried out the blood on the inside of the fur by just washing it. She requested me to get some water from a nearby lake with something that looked like a rum bottle but made out of wood with leather around it. I brought her the water and she washed off the blood and lay it to the side to dry.

As she was done the fire was already rather big so she cut the main part of the devil deer in half and cooked it over the fire while I got to eat the other half.

We sat in silence and ate together. I noticed that I got some system messages so I checked them:

You have upgraded your level from 4 -> 5

If you ate the meat of a devil deer you can start an evolution into a white devil snake.

Oh, interesting let's take a look at my status.

I thought about the evolution for a while and decided to do it while Thalia was awake. I went over to her and hissed at her. Then I rolled myself together and began the evolution.
