Lifeless Statue

The statue unfurled her wings and took flight. I followed suit, and now we are high up in the air. The city was pretty much destroyed, but I wanted to make her feel despair. After all, no matter what she does, she will definitely die.

A massive golden dome covered the entire sky.

In response, I turned the ground pitch black.

The night has descended, but it kinda looks like the sun has never left, as if eager to witness the battle.

Hundreds of golden swords materialized, circling around the Queen. A miniature sun glowed behind her back, and her wings were covered in golden plates. She looked like the goddess of war.

She hurtled the swords towards me. In response, I released black tentacles, covering the whole sky. The swords stopped in their tracks and started cutting the tentacles like vegetables, as if they were guards of a deity trying to stop peasants from approaching.

She looked at me with her cold, golden eyes, and thousands of swords materialized in the air. It was such a hassle to stop this many swords that can be controlled at her will. My body was riddled with cuts and bruises. Well, they aren't a bit threatening, but they are surely eating away at my mana. I transformed into a massive spear and aimed for her head. Her swords were unable to stop me. For the first time during our fight, she moved from her position, and I am regretting that. With her spear, she turned me into a rod full of holes. My body held on as she came closer. Black tentacles shot from my body, landing some solid hits. But it's not enough; there isn't even the slightest scratch on her body.

As I was contemplating what to do, thousands upon thousands of laser beams descended upon me. I was like a pot full of holes.

Bam! A bash from her shield sent me hurtling down.

It's going to be her biggest mistake. I dove into the black sheet spread on the ground.

Like a heavy downpour, laser beams descended upon me, but they had no effect. No matter how heavy the pour of water is, concrete always wins.

Soon, I realized it was a storm ravaging the ground. I held on. Running out of patience, she descended like a goddess. I swear, had I not known her vile nature, I would have kneeled on the ground because of her magnificent grace.

She stood tall, over 100 meters, as if she didn't want to disgrace herself by stepping on the ground. That's the moment I had been waiting for. Like a cage covering the sky, millions of black chains rose and covered the sky.

That look of nonchalance truly irritates me.

The chains came crashing down, trying to wrap the sun itself. They sizzled and melted, but the number of chains made up for that. More chains rose from the ground, forming a cocoon around the queen, encasing her.

Boom! The cocoon exploded like a bomb, a blinding flash coming out of it. As the Queen emerged from it, two hands made of black liquid grabbed her wings. Then hundreds more rose from the ground, catching the queen like a fancy chicken.

Her body started glowing, and four black swords pierced her head, dimming her glow.

I formed the cocoon once again. This time, I managed to devour her with the help of four generals. They kept attacking the Queen inside the cocoon, making her attacks useless.

I started devouring her mana, and I was shocked to find that there was no soul here. It meant she sacrificed herself to summon a deity. That explains why her movement and attack patterns were clumsy. Well, in the first place, she is not

that great of a close-range fighter.

The statue is like an empty shell with no experience. No doubt I was going to win, but I thought that at least I have to use my full power and sacrifice something big in the fight.

Well, whatever. Now I can finally reach the Saint stage with the help of the Queen.

"Please live your life in hell, cursing me throughout your afterlife."

Ahhh! My body has reached the threshold of power needed to reach the Saint stage.

I can breakthrough anytime with this newfound body. I tried to absorb as much mana as possible so that I have more mana when I reach the Saint stage.

Using Queen's mana, I had reached the threshold. But I have more options now.

I commanded the puppets to sacrifice themselves, then I focused on my core.

The mana is coming at a stable pace. It's good but pales in comparison to Queen's mana.

But due to having the same type of mana, it was much preferable.

The core started pulsating due to the overload of mana, but I held on. I was trying my best to compress the mana and push it inside the core.

Small cracks started to form on the core's surface. I think I can take some more mana. Soon, a big crack started to form. I knew that I had reached my limit. If I do more, then maybe with this body, I can even regenerate my core. I think the core is a great weakness for my current body. But if I destroy it, there's a high chance that the Human can break free from its slumber.
