Chapter 33: Courts and Princes

Lucien stepped into his room, finding Blaise in the midst of freshening up. The sound of running water filled the space as Blaise washed his face, and he glanced at Lucien through the mirror. "Good evening," Blaise greeted, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "I suppose I'll have to change my clothes. Still dressed up from last night, you see." He offered a suggestive smile, alluding to the eventful night they had experienced.

Lucien smiled back at his stepbrother. But then his expression turned serious, and he approached Blaise. "I must ask, what was in that letter?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Blaise hesitated, his hands freezing in their movements. He didn't meet Lucien's gaze, his eyes focused on his reflection in the mirror. "It's... nothing," he replied evasively. It was clear that he was attempting to dismiss the subject.
