Chapter 35: Making Up

Lucien put his laundry in the basket and gave Blaise a small nod. Blaise glared at him for a moment, then turned his eyes down toward his milk and ignored Lucien entirely.

Hurt, Lucien left, his heart aching, and went back up to his room, slamming the door behind him.

This was an unbearable situation. For a while Lucien simply stared out the window, watching the rain roll down the windowpane, his mind caught in a whirlwind of indecision. Should he go and speak to Blaise, and figure this out once and for all? Was it worth it? What if he pushed Lucien away even further? The internal battle waged within him, and he weighed the pros and cons for a long time. It was well over an hour until he finally reached a decision—yes, he would seek out Blaise and talk directly to him.
