That evening, in the study, Lucien sat engrossed the book he'd taken from the library, "Vampires: A Compendium". Blaise entered the room, settling down on the sofa with a cup of coffee. He glanced at Lucien and couldn't help but ask, "Why are you reading that instead of playing your violin?"
"Blaise, I found something," he said. He handed Blaise the note he had discovered. "I found this note at the library, in this book. So, I went to the Old Mill and found this chalice." He slid out the chalice from behind a set of books. "It is a strange object, don't you think? It was probably used in some ritual. I believe there might be a cure for your vampirism!"
Blaise took the note, scrutinizing it carefully. His eyes seemed to hesitate the initials "J.L.," but he didn't say anything. Instead, he voiced his confusion. "I don't understand, Lucien. Why do you want to help me so much?"
